I'm 31 and I've been been a console gamer my whole life. I always defended and preferred consoles but I must concede, consoles are no match. I enjoyed GTA V on PS4 with its (now crap to me) 30fps. On my PC I'm pushing 190fps with max settings. It's buttery smooth. I love shooters. I never realized how slow and inaccurate it is to aim with analog sticks. With a mouse and keyboard it's a breeze. It took some time getting used to mouse and keyboard controls but it already feels second nature. Here's some specs for those in the know: My desktop is a prebuilt Powerspec G426 from Microcenter. I know, I know, enthusiasts crap on prebuilts but I'm new to this and the specs are pretty good according to my extensive research. Intel Core i7-6700K Processor 4.0GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5 VR Ready 16GB RAM 2TB HD + 500GB SSD Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Asus 24x DVDRW Drive Multi-in-One Memory Card Reader Killer E2400 Network 802.11ac Wireless The keyboard and mouse that came with it were absolute crap so I upgraded to a mechanical keyobard and a logitech gaming mouse. Monitor is a Acer Predator XB271HU ‑ 27" QHD IPS LED Monitor ‑ 16:9 166hz Not my final setup. I just bought a bigger desk and some speakers. But I can't resist sharing.
Seems pretty solid for a prebuilt. Make sure you replace the power supply if its a junk one. Bad power supplies can destroy your other computer parts on failure. Get CSGO and Rocket League if you haven't already. Great bang for your buck games.
Nice? Yea tell that to my wallet. I was feeling the sting from the monitor price tag. I had a budget of 2000 but it skyrocketed with the monitor. But it is so worth it! Since most recommended 1440p and 144hz for gaming this monitor was just right. I've been playing Counterstrike but I keep getting my ass handed to me. Some bad ass players on there. My first deathmatch I had 7 kills and 30 something deaths.
I was originally set on a gaming laptop, an Alienware no less lol. I almost pulled the trigger. But I really did my research and this felt just right. I'm very happy.
Spell it right? lower case actually migrainepatrol There should be a green avatar with minimal background.
yea the Powerspec G426 got positive reviews and I really could'nt find anything negative about it other than it's a prebuilt. But for the price it was nice.
Very nice, OP. I have a similar setup except I use Win 7 and 2x SLI 1080 gtx cards. It's great for Star Citizen, check out duders man cave. Oh, and how do you like duders rug??
