lol. In those days even a ref could get injured. Maybe those corrupt refs nowadays need one of those.

 

I wish the league was a bit dirtier and tougher like before. In hockey, a fight is a 5 minute penalty...in the NBA, a fullblown fight like that would probably result in a season ending suspension.

 

Would like to see more footage of Malone and Barkley holding Bird while Dr J pummels him. Gets what he sews.

 

wow! artest is a little boy compared to this fight, now the suspensions and the fine would be huge for dr j, barkely, malone, and a little less but still big for bird.

thanks for posting this. Brought back some great basketball memories of those days. Whoever survived the physical eastern battle between those two, got the grand prize of a track meet with LA.

 

Akeem could fight back in the day too. I remember nobody liked to mess with him, especially the Sonics. I read that Olden Polynice told someone "Whatever you do,..don't challenge Dream to fight,...cause he'll fight you". He literally used to go around picking fights,..it was hilarious. He was the only Star/Enforcer in the league. The consummate hybrid.

 

that's what's missing in today's game, rivalry...it pisses me off like you wouldn't believe that all of these players are best friends on and off the court and try to get real buddy buddy with each other.

 

No. Fighting isn't good for the sport, it can have bad outcomes, especially in the NBA where there is no wall between fans and the players.
