    ding ding ding.

If its anything people should be worried about, its this. While countries spend years and centrifuges enriching Uranium to weapons grade capability nuclear power plants provide a much easier route in producing plutonium as a by product.

Yes, accidents happen, but in light of the recent events people need to cross reference this with other incidents and realize nothing is a 100% safe, nuclear power is still the best way to go. The waste is a real doozy, but all the CO2, sulfur , and other substances that are released into the air causing acid rain, smog, poor air quality among other things can be seen as just as bad.

You're never going to have a nuclear explosion, at worst the fuel can breach the reactor (cherinobyl) due to piss poor design, but even that's extremely unlikely in today's plants.

i agree completely. A statement like that makes no sense.

We want to end our dependence of fossil fuel.

The only alternative that can make up for the load through efficient means is nuclear power. Yes, theres geothermal, hydroelectric..etc. But nuclear power is the biggest outlet out of all of them.

You can't say no to fossil fuel and no to anything that carries a risk, which includes everything pretty much anyways.

True its an older design but just keep in mind that there is a lot of evidence that one of the reactors at Fukushima is breached.
