He was always a good coach. The dynamics of this team changed......simple as that.

Only two things have made lose my cool towards McHale this season. Lack of Dmo post plays which he seems to have fixed and that horrible lineup of Black and Dorsey.

I havent been posting but nice try. Watch the games then throw random numbers out. Rockets seeking to post Harden failed on so many levels last night I was shocked that they continued with it.

For the life of me, I can't see how somebody can criticize a coach who ran plays that led to a win.

That is the same type mentality that prevents naysayers from admitting that Harden is playing better defense even though the stats show otherwise. There is nothing that any 10 minute video, statistics or winning record which will help them change their mind. Instead of saying.... "great job coach", they will focus on what they think he did wrong.

The rockets are winning despite Mchale, not because of him.

Then I've never seen a team do so well in spite of their coach. Whatever McHale's not doing, I hope he keeps it up.

COY? Nah. But at least the 'Fire Mchale' thread is dying, so he's got that going for him, which is nice.

He is an excellent player coach and you can give a lot of the credit to him for the progression in the big guys especially demo, but his game management is far from top notch.

Harden is definitely the gaptain of the team leading the troops into battle, but McHale doesn't feel like the general managing the battles to win the war.

I doubt it. All it takes is for somebody to take the clipboard from him and he is demoted to scrub level. :)

dmo should be the only one posting with d12 out. I dont mind posting james, but going at it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over till it finally works isnt very smart

MoreyBall combined with defense seems to work.

This is crazy if you think he's always been a great coach. Our philosophy has changed drastically and hardly anyone noticed it. We are playing more fundamentally smart. If you noticed which I doubt, bev is actually trying to be a pg. No longer do you see Harden playing pg every single play. There's also picks being set and used with some post plays. We are playing more traditional basketball as we should and no longer just jacking up contest3d threes.

Had no problem with Mchale before and think he has done a great job this year. No coach can take the hits that he did this year in injuries and keep the team going.

    No doubt.

With all the roster turnover and injuries, he's done an incredible job.

I love that he incorporates advanced stats into his coaching as well.

Anybody who is hypercritical of him at this point is either (1) being a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian, (2) stubbornly refusing to budge from prior opinion because stubborn, or (3) outing themselves as not actually watching games. McHale -- for all the criticism I leveled against him last season -- has done a really remarkable job with very little so far this year.
