Do you mean build a bunch of tiny little overpriced lofts that are nothing more than really nice college dorms? We're already doing that...

Yeah, I really hate having a place to park. I'd much rather drive around for 20 minutes looking for a spot which is 4 blocks away from where I want to go. Sure, I'd sweat my ASS off, but at least I'd be HIP.

I don't really have a problem with these stores. Sorry if that makes me unhip. :(

Isn't Houston already one of the greenest cities in the country. I do like the idea of trees on the access roads, though.

Agree with this too, but this would create lots of contruction, and I'm just not sure how hip that would be.

Can't say I disagree with this. Driving down the Hardy Tollroad is so much easier on the eyes than I-45.

    That's impossible.

Congrats, man. Like you, I have some great friends up in Dallas. I also love Deep Ellum. I'm a metal-head, and the metal scene up there blows us away.

Dallas has its good qualities, but overall: Dallas Sucks.

Take the toll road from Frisco to downtown Dallas. It takes me no more than 20-22 minutes to get to IKEA from where I live...

No kidding, living up here, I was always saying, at least it's not humid. The past month it feels like I moved back to Houston, humid as a m-fer up here

Woot! I live in Frisco... the place is booming. I can't wait until the infrastructure finally catches up. Our stadium was a major coup! nWO, I'm sorry man, but the Frisco area is full of wannabe rich people and snobs (although mixed in are some nice people). Kind of reminds me of Sugar Land back in the day. lol.

As for this Houston vs. Dallas rivalry - give me a break. They both suck and they're both great. They're both hot. They're both humid. They're flat-out hell in summer. Dallas has a bunch of snobbish fakes and Houston has a bunch of insecure people. Y'all are pretty much advertising that Texas sucks! Congrats! I'd rather focus on why I like both cities... carry on.

Dallas is a little hotter in the summer than Houston - its heat index is about the same or a bit higher. Not to mention Houston cools off at night - when it's 100 in the daytime in Dallas, it's 90-95 at 10pm at night. The average humidity in Dallas is only about 10% less than Houston during the hottest months, but the average temperature is about 2-3 degrees hotter during those months, too, to make up for it. Like I said - they're both hell in the summer.

Dallas sucks! Ive been living in this hell hole for 3 years, and I am sure as heck glad I am moving back to Houston at the end of the month. I dont think there is ONE decent chinese restaurant in the whole damn city.

There isn't...you have to go to PF Changs, which is sad.

I move back to HTown tomorrow from Dallas (2 years in the D)

I really don't get all the hatred that each city's residents have for the other

Since I am unbiased, I will admit that Dallas is a much prettier city. It really is. It also has better weather/less traffic and zoning is a big difference maker.

However, the people are pretentious without any real reason to be and Houston has better restaurants/hole in the wall places to hang out and is more laid back (doesn't have a ton of $30,000 millionaires) and isn't a total concrete jungle like Dallas

They are both great cities with problems

it's not what you get to look at, by ripping them down, it's what you don't have to look at. ;)

longer than the summer, but i can't say permanent. Nevada looks kinda nice.

Amen on that. Take a ride into oak cliff or down 175 and look at all the junk yards and used car lots...one after another.
