I nominate this as the best post in this thread.. it pretty much sums up this situation in one word..
True on a literal sense, but playing vspan and bonzi may be obvious to most people, except the one person with the power to play them. This is a blessing in disguise because vspan and bonzi would have rotted on the bench if not for this injury and force the hand of jvg.
Could you change your allegiance to the Mavericks please? I mean, you might aswell. Your excitement to Kirk Snyder getting injured is pretty similar to how excited many Rockets fans were when Josh Howard got injured.
TMac was talking about himself and looking at the positive side of what happened to him personally. He can make those assessments about himself. He was not talking about another person and how it was a good thing that they got hurt. All windfern did was yell 'BLESSING IN DISGUISE', which is the same as 'IT'S A GOOD THING HE GOT INJURED'. Well no it's not. Fans don't wish injury on their players (even in the rare instance where it would help their record, which it will not).
Nah, I hate the mavericks and Dirk Nowinzski. Sorry, if you confuse an increase in the chance of rockets winning games now as knock on the rockets. Sure it's bad he got hurt, but he wasn't lighting the world on fire or anything. He's a role player that will be replaced by better role players. The true rockets fans see this blessing in disguise.
Me too. I bet if Vspan is just average or so so in the first several games he sub in, he will get flamed by the haters in no time. Some of the folks not necessarily truly support certain players. They support them just because they hate others.
Thanks, I was curious. I thought maybe it was on a dunk or a block. I appreciate the additional information.
Sorry if this was already posted.. but Synder - surgery on Tuesday out 8-10 weeks Rockets G Snyder undergoes hand surgery, out 8-10 weeks November 21, 2006 HOUSTON (Ticker) - Houston Rockets reserve guard Kirk Snyder underwent surgery to repair a broken right hand on Tuesday and will be sidelined eight to 10 weeks. Snyder suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Rockets' 97-90 win over New York on Monday. An MRI revealed that Snyder sustained a spiral fracture of the second metacarpal bone in his hand. The Rockets acquired Snyder from the New Orleans Hornets last July. He averaged 5.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in Houston's first 11 games. The 16th player selected in the 2004 draft, Snyder began his career with the Utah Jazz. He was traded to the Hornets in a five-team, 13-player deal in August 2005 and averaged 8.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 68 games with the Hornets. Wow that sucks so much, it was pathetic watching him airball those 2 free throws. I didn't think it would be as bad as a broken hand. Man 10-12 weeks is FOREVER. Hopefully he can pick back up where he left off, and in the meantime we see some good play from some benchwarmers.
Eh, he'll probably come back right after the All-Star break. There's still lots of BBall left after that. The good thing is it's only his hand... really only a finger, even though it's the index finger... isn't that the second metacarpal? So, after a short while, he should be able to run and ride the bike and generally stay in something close to game shape. He'll probably have a couple of weeks just working on his shot and that will be that. He should be fresh for the stretch, which could pay off.
Yeah, but T-Mac also said during all his emotional problems last year that he decided to use "basketball as an escape goat" -- thereby bricking both the phrase *and* its meaning. A true grammar double-double!
I flame on Juwan because he was a stud years ago, is past his prime and will finish the season with a plus/minus around -10 to -15. He will not improve no matter how much he plays because he has run out of gas. It happens. No hate, just facts. I want to see Novak and Vspan play because they have huge upsides. They may stink up the court now but in a few months after playing consistent minutes, they should both improve. I do admit I do not expect either of them to be a Langhi or a Boki. But only time on the court will tell. If they play as well as Juwan and then gradually improve I will be happy. I cannot see either playing worse than Juwan or Rybo of last year. It's what I consider to be best in the interest of the team winning.
