One thing I don't understand at all, why Snyder still took the 2 free throws after the injury? I did not watch the game, did someone check his condition after the collision? He looked so painful in the photos so why not sent him to the locker room immediately? He really shouldn't move his hand if it was broken, that would hurt more. What's the rule book said if a player was fouled and injured but could not take the free throws?
I think his hand got broken AFTER he shot the first freethrow.. I dont understand why the heck he shot it with his right hand.. What's the rule book said if a player was fouled and injured but could not take the free throws?
if u cant take the freethrows, somebody else can shoot them for u but u cant get back to the game..
I wish Kirk a speedy recovery. Remeber Yao has become more dominate after his two foot injuries. Natrually our Kirk will shoot better and be more aggressive to the basket after he comes back.

He probably didn't realize that it was broken until the first attempt. After the first attempt, JVG came over and told him something - probably to intentionally air-ball the second ft so they could get a violation and get him out of the game.
5 years ago, my little brother broke his femur (thigh bone), he was playing with his friends (football I believe) and when he tackled the guy, he fell on the ground and his friend fell on his foot... my brother was in great pain, but he didn't cry or anything.. he got up slowly, and then he fell down for no reason and started crying really loud.. after we took him to the hospital and we told them the story, they told us that he should've never gotten up because it aggravated the injury.. I think that's the case with Snyder.. when he shot it the first freethrow, I am pretty sure he aggravated the break .. it might have actually been a fracture before he shot the ball...

Why can't the officials stop the game immediately? Thanks for the info btw.
no, he wanted him to shoot an airball so he wont have to use a time out to get him out.. because when u shoot an airball on the 2nd freethrow, it's a violation and u have to take it from the outside.. if Snyder's shot actually hit the rim, we would've had to play defense and get the ball then take a timeout to get him out.. a rare smart move by JVG...

Thanks for the info btw.
No comment on the 2nd shot ft airball, but it looked pretty obvious that Snyder had more than a stinger after the foul and he should have taken himself out then or JVG should have done it. I like Snyder, but losing out on 2 FT's just to hope a rotation guy can play through the pain doesn't make sense to me. If you saw the game that's a call JVG should have made.
JVG may not have realized that Snyder broke his hand. If he subs him out of the free throw, that means he can't play the rest of the game.
No - they didn't know there was a problem until after the first free throw. At that point, there's little chance Synder can make the second, and further more, a miss means he has to play D. So better to shoot an airball so you can get Synder out of the game and to the locker room, and replace him with someone who can play D (instead of being 5 on 4)
Snyder's injury is a great loss cause he and Chuck are both passionate players that the others cannot replace. But hope Vspan and Bonzi and Nowak can get more time and do their best! Last, wish Snyder back asap!
well, its gonna be a blessing in disguise, for JVG! its v-span time!!! the only thing i hate abouty v-span is that, he's too shy when it comes to shooting the ball! its like 98% of the time he's gonna pass it to anybody!
