It's all in the writing, and SNL is in serious need of new writers. Last night's show was a stinker. It put me to sleep.
yes it was terrible. The cast is looking pretty terrible. Chris Kattan's reminding me of Moochie after he signed...slower....older....
The writing has been bad for a while now, only it was hidden better by talented players like Ferrell. Not saying the current cast is not talented, but Ferrell had that Phil Hartman, Jan Hooks ability to play any role. That sort of ability makes average skit writers great. PS. Is Jan Hooks the most underated SNL castmember of all time or what? She is amazingly funny.
Every tv critic and article you read will say the writing has been very good for the last 5 seasons or so. The ratings the last few years have been some of the best in the shows history. This season is off to a bad start, but don't tell me that the previous seasons sucked. Since 1998, the show has been on top of its game. The writers havn't changed much in that time period either. They're in a slump now but don't take away the work they have been doing. The way Lorne Michaels works, if the whole season sucks, you can expect him to do something. Tracy Morgan needs more sketches man. Especially when he does those "bothering the host in between sketches" bits. Even though he's done it before, I nearly busted a gut when he told Lorne to get him a pepsi and called him a "biatch."
Chris Kattan Exotic dancer Mango Half-monkey Mr. Peepers He and Amy Poehler fight their way through numerous domestic disturbances as a white trash couple who “love each other so hard.” It sucks that he doesn't have any more major roles on the show. I think he's funny as hell! You know who would be tight to see on there and make fun of: Anna Nicole Smith
