yea it's offensive but it is SNL. not like they had the skit at the GOP convention or something... if people are offended by the skit, who the hell am i to tell them to "take it easy" though. having trouble seeing stuff must suck. i hear that the governor has other issues too. If he was a standup guy without reproach I don't think they would have done it that way.
Honestly, Asians (esp. Asian Immigrants) gets mocked in media a hell of a lot more than blind people. Then it's probably the gays. Blind people gets made fun of in SNL or media what? .0001% of time? And it's not even directly!!!!

Good one. I like Langal's view. I didn't find it offensive but then again I'm not blind. I think there are some posters on CF.net who are deaf but I'm wondering if there are any who are blind. Just curious what their thoughts are or for that matter if somebody else has an impairment what they think.
It's satire. No one is forcing anyone else to watch it, or have it described to them. Don't like it? Change the channel. Hell, I didn't watch SNL for 3 or 4 years (maybe longer), it had gotten so bad. This, believe it or not, is an improvement.
SNL has to run the skit to stay true to their roots of political satire - especially for a local official - while not passing up an easy but effective joke. Paterson has to speak out against it as an official with personal experience of stigma due to a handicap. Free speech and tolerance worked perfectly in this situation.
