U2 have been great on SNL their previous times: <embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid205.photobucket.com/albums/bb298/mpadawer/U2-ElevationLiveonSNL.flv">
Anyone catch the f-bomb dropped during the biker chick skit? A nothing special show, but I did like the digital short Transformers bit near the end.
Classic. This probably won't stay up long (that's what she said): <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NJOvVdl0DXU&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NJOvVdl0DXU&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Poor thing, it'll be a while before she gets on a sketch again. The face she made after she realized what happened, it'll probably be a meme before you know it:
You'd think by now that 11 pm on a Saturday night would be late enough to be able to speak like an adult, particularly on a live comedy. This will hopefully work in her favor, like Rachel Dratch cracking up on the first Debbie Downer sketch.
Well, after actually watching the clip, there's nothing really funny or interesting about the curse or even the sketch in general; just a big screw-up. Hope she's a good writer.
Truly sucky episode. I don't get Megan Fox at all. I don't even think she's pretty or even interesting looking. And she certainly has nothing else going for her. Worse opening monologue ever too. The first sketch (with Gadaffi) was very funny. Watched another 20 minutes and didn't crack a smile. Then turned off the TV.
funny thing is that probably the first thing that popped into her mind during the face was "OH F***!"
Man...that would be awesome. I'm pretty sure I've seen movies on Comedy Central late at night that aren't edited for language though.
http://www.tvweek.com/blogs/tvbizwire/2009/09/lorne-michaels-worried-about-f.php Lorne Michaels Worried About FCC Reaction to Live F-Bomb on This Past Saturday's 'SNL' Washington Post Jenny Slate, in her debut on "Saturday Night Live," dropped an F-bomb. The show's longtime executive producer, Lorne Michaels, feels terrible for her, but what worries him is the reaction of the Federal Communications Commission, Michaels told Tom Shales of theWashington Post. According to the article, "It has to be an actor's worst nightmare,' Michaels said. 'Your first time on 'Saturday Night Live' and this happens. You could sense the mortification in the studio.' Michaels noted that there's been 'so much government scrutiny' of TV in recent years -- sparked largely by Janet Jackson's 'wardrobe malfunction' during halftime at the Super Bowl in 2004 -- that he is somewhat worried about the aftermath." Some observers told TVWeek that since the inadvertant F-bomb was uttered at 12:43 am (ET), that it would likely be far less of an issue than had it been earlier in the day. In time zones where "SNL" is not shown live, the word was bleeped. Also, according to the Post article, "SNL" "does not use a so-called 'seven-second delay' to prevent any unplanned utterances from going out on the air. 'We've used an honor system,' Michaels said, 'and pretty much everyone has played by it forever.' An F-bomb as was also dropped on "SNL" in 1981, at a time when Michaels was not producing the show.
The show wasn't horrible, but it was close. It had a few moments that made me laugh. But I agree with Batman on Meagan Fox. What is the big deal? There are plenty of hotter celebs out there to satisfy your spank bank. She's like a skinny version of Kim Kardasian, only she doesn't have quite as much personality, and that's pretty bad.....She didn't make me so much as smile even once. I caught the f-bomb. I had to rewind and rewatch it a couple of times just to make sure I heard it right because the audience didn't react at all (they were probably asleep...) U2 was pretty good, but Bono didn't really do any kind of stunt this time. The Edge sounded great and of course Larry was rock-solid, like he always is.
It's a ****ing F word. Big deal. What they should be mad at is the terrible crap this show has been producing for the past few years. Other than Dick in a Box and I'm On a Boat... SNL is pure garbage. It's the sketch comedy show equivalent of Jay Leno.
Were DD's kids watching? If so, I assume he's written a plethora of e-mails to all relevant authorities.
i don't think it was so much a critique as it was an opinion. having never drank of the u2 kool-aid, it's an opinion i share. as for the premiere, i recorded it and watched half of the opening dialog and then skipped to the weekend update. but that's fairly typical for me if i don't particularly like the host or musical guest.
