After seeing Em's new video, I wouldn't put it past him to lip-synch... and get caught doing so... on purpose. He's got a new album coming out, and controversy is just free publicity for him, anyway. Anything to spur sales.

It also looked to me like he was reading his lyrics off of a cue card or something. He kept looking down at something.

he probably did it on purpose. but i didnt see it so i have no clue. its just kind of a big coincidence that 2 people would get busted for lip syncing 2 weeks in a row, especially if one is eminem who likes to make fun of teeny bopper stars like ashlee simpson. i dunno...i guess we'll find out more later.

I think alot of them lipsync to a certain extent.
It was pretty damn obvious he had another voice behind his, but this is very common in rap and didnt seem that odd to me. IMHO

I do think however, if "eM" is such a dope and badass rapper he shouldnt need the second voice unless he was getting hoarse or something. Often times singer do this, I guess.....
Makes me think he's getting a little too precious with his stylee.

Too bad Saturday Night Live is letting this **** happen. I really have enjoyed their live versions in the past and always look foward to that part.

I'm actually glad he lip-synced...sync'd...uh, synced.....did a lip sync performance.

There is nothing worse than hearing live rap. It always ends up sounding the same. One guy rapping while 4 other guys yell "uh!" and "yeah!" over his lyrics. Those guys always end up louder than the rapper and it ends up sounding like just a bunch of guys yelling over eachother.

You guys are so out of the loop ~ the newest trend in the hip hop is ventriloquism. As usual Eminem is leading the pack…

What's the big deal? Rapping doesn't require the same kind of vocal talent that singing does. I've never heard a rapper hit a note that I couldn't.

I don't think you guys understand how hard it is to spit 16 verses (2-4 times per song) without flubbing a word, stumbling for a split second (which kills your timing and ruins everything), or just plain running out of breath.

I wish I had the link, but I thought Eminem said he did it on purpose to make fun of Ashlee and tried to make it obvious. Although this would seem like a copout, it seems like something he'd do to poke fun at someone.

If so, you would think he would say something about it during the performance, given how 'outspoken' he is.

Some of you people just need to get educated on performing live. Most of you think that you it's imperative to play the instrumental and not the actual song when you perform. This is not the case. A lot of rappers or singers actually play the real song and they just rap or sing over it. There is nothing wrong with that. Some of you might ask why? Well, when you perform by yourself, it is impossible to catch your breath sometimes and you don't want just the music playing. This is why you put the actual song on when you perform...to actually have a chance to catch your breath. Eminem does his own choruses too. It takes all your energy just to do the verses...so give this guy a damn break. I'm getting tired of you people who don't know what the hell is going on and just bash the hell out of people. These are not rock bands playing. There is a damn difference.

Why don't you open up a little bit. Rap requires more skills than you think.
