This is so freaky, I just opened this thread right now because of some posts in a thread in the GARM, and then they showed the incident on channel 11 news right after I opened it.

Ha! Can you believe this? This b!tch is supposed to perform "live" at the Radio Music Awards Monday night! Memo to self: set dvr to record Radio Music Awards.

The band played 'wrong,' Ashlee says

By César G. Soriano, USA TODAY

Singer Ashlee Simpson was topic No. 1 on Internet message boards and entertainment blogs after a performance "glitch" on Saturday Night Live.

Web users traded video clips of Simpson hitting the stage to debut her new single, Autobiography. SNL viewers heard Simpson — her microphone at her side and her mouth closed — singing Pieces of Me, which she had performed earlier on the show. The chagrined singer did a jig before leaving the stage, while her band still played.

Simpson, 20, apologized at the end of the show and blamed her band for playing "the wrong song." Her record label and publicist said it was a computer glitch. But the track sounded like a guide vocal, a common concert aid in which the singer either "lip synchs" or sings along to the tape. An SNL insider, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Associated Press that the show has used such vocal tricks in the past.

On Sunday, Web sites lampooned Simpson through altered video clips and morphed photos. One photo showed her holding up a record by Milli Vanilli, the duo who were stripped of their 1990 Grammy for lip-synching. Simpson's official Web site was inundated with hundreds of posts attacking the singer.

Simpson is still set to perform tonight at the Radio Music Awards, airing (ahem) live on NBC at 9 ET/PT tape-delayed.

I guess I will repost rockHEAD's dancing photo because the original file is now gone.

Anybody else find themselves hypnotized by that hoe-down dance she's doing?

At about the 5th or 6th note, after her lyrics start, you can hear the RYTHM guitar play, which wasn't playing before that, then the bass guitar dude follows. She looks SAD while walking out.

"... my band started playing the wrong song so I just... "

Bi*zn*tch. How about saying: "We don't know what happened, we have to investigate," or some sh*t like that... instead of blaming it on a specific part?

I knew Arsenio Hall knew of the LypSync'in' Milli Vanilli snafu way before us, 'cuz no one ever EVER lip-sanc on his show...

"blame it on the band... yea, yeaaahhh..."

I have absolutely no sympathy for her whatsoever.

And, yes, that was the funniest thing ever.

Hopefully, we'll have one less pop loser around. Unfortunatly, like a hydra's heads, when one pop idol falls, at least two more take their place.
