Wow. Jim Breuer #139 out of 141? He deserves better than that just for Goatboy alone. Hey, reEEEEEEEEEEEEE-AAAAAAHHHHHHmember Goatboy? And his Joe Pesci was awesome.

And Norm MacDonald #135? I guess RS just didn't get his super-dry delivery.

And Tina Fey #3? Her Palin was top notch and Weekend update was kind of funny....but #3???

Interesting list. Might even deserve it's own thread.

So massive a star that Beverly Hills Cop held the record for consecutive weeks at #1 in the box office for years and years...until Titanic.

I was just about to post this. Being an SNL fanatic (especially behind the scenes), fun to read.

Coincidentally I've been rereading Live from New York, although it's the updated version adding the past few years. Have yet to see the 40th, saving that for a rainy day.

I still can't get over the fact that Eddie Murphy didn't do at least one sketch? Did anyone read some of Norm's tweet? He was suppose to be in Celebrity Jeopardy as Cosby, lol. But declined at the last minute. DAMN YOU EDDIE!

I completely missed it! Been avoiding watching the video highlights. Where could I catch SNL40 in its entirety?

Well, he gives a **** about not offending a multi-rapist. Good for Eddie.

The Robert Blake joke, Martin Short made during his bit. What was it again that he did that made him infamous to hollywood??? Was it another OJ type?

That rolling stone list is an abomination . Horrible list. For me the guy that was the best to ever do it was Dana carvey

He probably had a bodyguard kill his wife in a restaurant parking lot while he went back in pretending to look for something. But prosecutors just couldn't put the conspiracy together and he was acquitted.

Try not to hold your breath for Noreen from Seinfeld doing Samantha Kinison or Andrea Dice Clay.

The only problems I have with it are Cheri O'Teri and Chris Kattan being in the bottom half, particularly lower than Gasteyer or Shannon. Ferrell exploded after the Bush-Gore debates, but those cheerleader skits kept the lights on right after 94-95 and Kattan was just game for some really nutty stuff. I do think Mohr and Breuer need to be given a little more credit for their memes: Pesci, DeNiro, Goatboy and Walken, and Breuer might have referred Morgan from their Uptown Comedy Club days. Rock should not have been ranked that highly or above Meadows or Morris, I think the funniest thing he did was some NRA-sketch about the Brady Bill where he kept calling Tim Meadows "Willie Horton," my dad and older brother were rolling around on the floor at that one.

I do like that Mike Myers was near the top: very prolific developer and performer who helped usher in a generational shift. If Lorne ever leaves it'd be cool to see him as the showrunner.

You know what, after much thought and consideration I'm going with Dana Carvey as well. It's pretty simple, he was funny. Not saying that the other cast members weren't funny. but also, he had a variety of characters and each one of them killed.
