Check out his PER compared to the next best PG and even the rest of the league. PGs: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/holl...istics?sort=per&qual=true&pos=pg&seasonType=2 NBA: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/holl...stics?sort=per&qual=true&pos=all&seasonType=2 A difference if 1 or 2 in PER is pretty significant. Rondo has the 2nd highest PER among PGs and he's 13.5 behind Paul.
Wasn't everyone saying that CP3 didnt like Coach Scott? Seems like he didnt really want him to go based on some of his comments to the media.
i still think DW is better. DW just knows how to win, plus his size is a major disadvantage to opposing pgs
Ask any PG in the league and they'd tell you Paul more than overcomes his "size disadvantage." And Paul is significantly better that DWill in today's league, where speed rules.
Chris Paul is just shooting marvelously at the moment. Over 60% FG is excellent for a center/post. For a point guard, it's unfathomable.
I'm sure Paul knows how to win too. Plus that size thing you're speaking of? It doesn't matter when Paul just crosses over his defender and blazes right past them.
I tought he was. But Chris is having a great season, great shooting season. But the guy has to do it all. Hornets are gonna be really BAD this year. He may have to score 30 in every game for them to have even a try.
Chris Paul's having to do a lot more scoring this year, but is proving he can obviously do it. The guy's insane. If the Hornets want to save money, I'll take CP3 and their other huge contract (Okafor) for McGrady + anyone else but Yao.
what does "knowing how to win" really mean? DW size is an advantage...well so is paul's speed and quickness. you can like DW more if you want (and he is a very good pg), but he is not near the level of paul.
If we traded them Tracy, Brooks, and Cook for Cp3 and their bad contracts of Peja and Peterson they could then use the free agency this off season to find replacement SG SF's on the cheap. One possible example for them is... Brooks Tracy Ray Allen West Okafur with the two Browns and Posey coming off the bench. Not saying that IS going to be available, but that it's a possibility. There are a lot of veteran SF SG's in this year's free agency that can be had cheaper than usual. We would have... Paul Ariza Battier Scola Yao and off the bench... Lowry Peterson Peja/Budinger Landry Hayes/Anderson There's also a possibility we could start Peterson in the place of Battier even though he isn't as good a player, just to solidify the bench more. Besides that in 2011, Battier, Peja, Peterson and Yao will all be expiring.
Also, I must say, even though I like the above trade proposal, it doesn't guarantee us being any better than Tracy and Yao, plus what we have. That's of course taking into account a healthy Tmac. I mean, Cp3 COULD get injured once here too.
If there was an edit button I would also add that I dislike Peja almost as much as I dislike Cook...almost, but Peja makes about 15 million.
Deron Williams is 10 times better than Chris Paul. If Chris Paul played as cleanly as Deron does (and yes, he's the only Jazz who doesn't cheat), and if the refs weren't on his jock so much, we wouldn't even be having this convesation. I hate that flopping nut-punching little piece of crap with all my heart
Wow...sometimes you come across someone that is so off base that's it's amazing. Oh well, opinions, opinions...shine on you crazy diamond.
His shooting percentages are excessively high right now, leading to a bump in his PPG, but every other category is down. He's just taking more of the scoring load right now (1 more shot per game in 4 less minutes) so the shift isn't really surprising. It's just those crazy %'s, which are going to come back to Earth at some point. In short, it's very impressive but won't last.
