I watched a trailer for the movie (too lazy to find it again). Let me just say this: The computer animations of the snakes are so bad that this movie is almost suredly to be a cult classic.
Although both the studio and almost everyone involved with the project first thought Snakes on a Plane was a "stupid title," even flirting with retitling it as the generic Pacific Air Flight 121 at one point, online buzz for the film has been steadily building without any real help from New Line. Unofficial t-shirts have been made, film clips are being leaked online, and fansites and blogs are popping up. New Line and the industry could no longer afford to ignore the film's pre-release hype. The studio is now actively seeking out the fans, including having Jackson utter a certain profanity-laced phrase they had demanded. New Line is also collaborating with TagWorld.com for a Snakes on a Plane-themed song contest, with the winning tune to be used in the film. In related news, Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive first look at the film's new logo. IGN.Com - Snakes grows longer I'll look a little more for an updated trailer.
I found the updated trailer. Sorry for so many posts in a row. This is gonna be great! SNAKES ON A PLANE! I love how it says "Snakes" all dramactically, then says "On a plane," like it's some crazy idea.
Real-life 'snake on a plane'! Pilot Grabs Snake, Lands Plane June 2, 2006 12:51 PM CDT link (CHARLESTON, W.Va.) -- The much-talked-about movie "Snakes on a Plane" doesn't open until August. But Monty Coles doesn't have to see it. He's lived it. Three-thousand feet in the air on Saturday, he discovered a four-and-a-half-foot black snake peering out at him from the instrument panel of his Piper Cherokee. He'd already been preparing to land in southern Ohio after a flight from West Virginia. He tried to swat the snake. But it just fell to his feet under the rudder pedals, and then darted to the other side of the cockpit. So, while flying the plane with one hand, Coles grabbed the snake behind its head with his other hand, even as it coiled around his arm. Next, he told the control tower he needed emergency landing clearance -- and that he had "one hand full of snake and the other hand full of plane." He says he was cleared right in. Coles made a smooth landing, then posed for pictures with the snake, before letting it loose.
Greatest. Movie. Ever. Scared the **** out of my while making me laugh at the same time. You gotta love that Sam Jackson.
YOU ready for the spin offs!!!!!!!!!! "Sharks on a Roller Coaster" (Tagline:You must be this tall...to DIE!). This movie is going to suck soooo bad...but their reverse psychology has worked on me to perfection....I have to see it....
these commercials are freaking out my 6 year old. i've told him i've never actually SEEN a snake on a plane in my lifetime.
i want to make it this weekend. gotta find some friends who understand the stupidity/greatness of it. i've read alot of responses from people who went last night and said it was a blast b/c the crowd was into it. probably best to catch a showing this weekend b/c of all the hype and people going all out. folks bringing rubber snakes and paper airplanes. you'd think it would be annoying but apparently, it adds alot of fun to the movie experience.
Yeah was thinking this would be a good one to catch at the Drafthouse with a few beers... I sold my girlfirend on the movie after she got the "call from Samuel Jackson" so hopefully I'll get to see it this weekend!
