Not that it matters, but: http://www.cancer.org/docroot/PED/c...g.asp#Other_nicotine_and_tobacco_products_not Electronic cigarettes In 2004, a Chinese company started making a refillable "cigarette" that had a battery and an electronic chip in it. It is designed to look like a cigarette, right down to the glowing tip. When the smoker puffs on it, the system delivers a mist of liquid, flavorings, and nicotine that looks something like smoke. The smoker inhales it like cigarette smoke, and the nicotine is absorbed into the lungs. The electronic cigarette, or e-cigarette, is sold with cartridges of nicotine and flavorings. Several brands and varieties of the e-cigarette are now sold in the US. Here, the e-cigarette is usually sold as a way to get nicotine in places where smoking is not allowed, although some may sell it as a way to quit smoking. The cartridges are sold in different doses of nicotine, from high doses to no nicotine at all. The e-cigarette has no published clinical trials that suggest it might work as a way to help smokers quit. No clinical trials have been submitted to the FDA. As of early 2009, the FDA has not ruled as to whether e-cigarettes are medical devices but it is investigating. There may also be questions about how safe it is to inhale some of the flavorings and other substances in the nicotine mists into the lungs. Even substances that are safe to eat can harm delicate tissues inside the lungs. Like other forms of nicotine, the e-cigarettes and nicotine cartridges can be toxic to children or pets. They can also pose a choking hazard.
Some more warnings I found online: Discontinue use of Njoy if any of the following occurs: Itching Vertigo Dizziness Tingling in extremities Loss of balance or coordination Slurred speech Temporary blindness Profuse sweating Bleeding from the eyes Heart palpitations Anal bleeding When not in use, Njoy should be returned to its special container and kept under refrigeration... Failure to do so relieves the makers of Njoy and its parent company Global Chemical Unlimited, of any and all liability. Ingredients of Njoy include an unknown glowing substance which fell to Earth, presumably from outer space. Njoy has been shipped to our troops in Afganistan and is also being dropped by our warplanes on Iraq. Do not taunt Njoy.
Hey Fatty Does this mean you're trying to quit your nicotine dependency completely, and eventually give up Njoy also? Or are you just switching from cigs to Njoy?
Who knows. I really enjoy smoking, but the smell, and the coughing get old, so I figured I'd give this a try.
Well, without the cigarettes, you're making it much harder for us non-smokers to whine about it your nicotine dependency.
All smartass posts aside, why? There's no need to lecture about the long-term results from smoking. NJoy sounds like it's just the same damn thing though. Cancer is cancer no?
Quite possibly one of the stupidest posts ever on this board. Is a nicotine patch just as bad as smoking? Do you even know what is in a cigarette? I find it funny that some people think I'm "cheating" by using this. "Nuh uh! Go cold turkey or it doesn't count!"
You do realize that it's the carcinogens (i.e. the 4000 or so other chemicals and artificial ingredients the tobacco companies put into cigarettes) that cause cancer and not the nicotine, no? Fatty, thanks for the info. I purchased some Blu Cigs since NJoy is sold out online everywhere I looked. Blu Cigs starter kit goes for $59.95 online. What sold me is the case that looks like a cigarette pack that's a charger too. http://www.blucigs.com/
I think all the tasteless humor on this thread is absurd. I smoke, which really is a huge health concern for me. I have recently been gearing my mind to first cut back, then quit. I have smoke for 16 years, and find it so difficult to just quit cold turkey. I would love to know of a place in Houston that has Njoy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Fatty.
LOL at you touting this as the easiest way to quit smoking, yet you don't even know if you want to quit... I see this thing being more counterproductive than actually helping. Now you have a device that allows you to smoke in places you weren't able to before, and also take nicotine in at your discretion. IF you were using this to quit, you still have to have the will power to taper yourself with this device. At least with a patch, it's a regulated and set amount. With this product, you can just pick it up and take puffs as you like. Hooray for stupid consumers that buy into this crap.
Some of you just don't get it. Pretty sad for you, actually. Why does it matter to anyone that doesn't smoke? Go away, loser.
Explain it to me then, wise one. Fact is, I do get it. I did smoke and I quit. Cold turkey. There's a reason why most of the successful "quit smoking" stories you hear are from people that did it like I did. It works well and it is the best way to do it. Don't feel sorry for me, feel sorry for yourself. You are just looking for more excuses to keep getting your nicotine. At one end you say you want to quit, yet you are saying all these things about how there's no smell and how much healthier it is. You're focusing on the wrong things buddy. In your mind, you're making this stuff as positives. If you want to quit, anything that deals with smoking and nicotine should be all negatives in your mind. I would argue that you don't get it. You seem pretty confused to me. I don't care if people smoke. If you want to continue to kill yourself, then that's your decision. I'm just offering my advice because I was in your shoes and now I'm on the other side. Lighten up and stop taking everything so personally. Maybe that will help you relieve some stress so you don't have to smoke it away.
With elements like Njoy, or nicotine gum... patches, etc. it becomes clear that there is a difference between "quitting smoking" and "quitting nicotine" All Fatty is saying is that he recommends Njoy as a way of getting nicotine without smoking (and all of the drawbacks that come with smoking). Seems pretty simple to me.
