I am tired of the Rockets system in terms of who plays, it is way too inconsistent under Van Grumpy. I think we should considere firing him, and hire Kenny Smith as our new coach. Smith, was a great Rocket for all these years, is a great commentator, who seems like he has the skills and the ability of becoming a succesful coach. If Scott Skiles can coach, Kenny surely can.

If our problem is lack of energy and desire, I'd rather have Mario Elie, frankly. At least he has coaching experience.

I like Kenny as an announcer tho. Mario for coach. He'll bring toughness to this team. Also Scottie Brooks is an assistant on Denver. Kenny belongs in the studio with Chuck and Ernie. Thats the best NBA analyst team ever!

Mario would be a nice change of pace for us. He will definently breath some fire into this team. He always had the fire on the team with heart and so much more.

But i don't know if he has had enough coaching experience to become a head coach right now.

Avery Johnson isn't bad either...another dynamite ball of energy and heart.

If he would do it, I'd like the Chuckster to come in as an interim head coach.

although the chuckster was an amazing player, he'd spend more time yelling at fans that at his players...i truly think, its more of a talent issue rather than a coaching issue; and it's time the players actually attempted to earn their contracts (MoT, JH)

Reporter: Coach Barkley, your team blew a 12 point lead in the 4th quarter. Your team is struggling, what seems to be problem?

    CB: I suspect racism.

That's crap - it's the coach. Half of our old team is lighting it up in Orlando. JVG will just continue to get rid of players until he gets players he likes. A good coach should be able to adapt to the hand he's been dealt. After all, he didn't have to come here.

I'm for Smith - this team needs someone positive as a leader.

As long as we are talking druthers if JVG were gone, I'd rather have Calvin Murphy with Mario as the second coach. I have not completely given up on JVG, though. I just wish he'd lighten up so he could see a few positives.
