Just wondering -- when is the draft scheduled to begin? I'll be heading out of town during the last week of August, so hopefully it will be before then. Didn't we start around Aug. 14th last year?
sorry guys forgot about a start date anyone have a preference?? and what about the infamous time limit?? and also position, same as usual but maybe more defense??
The 12-14th (or earlier) works for me. I'll likely be on the road for the 22nd-25th, so I'd like to get a big chunk of it done before then. The earlier the better, really. 10 or 12 hour time limit sounds good. I would even be happy with 8. No excuse not to leave lists, IMO. I noticed that they now record defensive stats for entire teams on the site, although I'm not sure exactly how it works. Perhaps we should have 1 DL, 1 DB, 1 LB, 1 Team Defense.
I also think we should go with an 8 hour time limit. If you won't be around, leave a list with someone, There is no excuse not to. If you don't leave a list we skip your pick. I vote to keep the same defense as last year. Pretty soon we will be fielding an entire team at this rate
Please let us draft a whole team. That would be awesome. That would be the greatest fantasy league in my opinion. People forget lineman have stats too. I think fantasy leagues of 2010 will include lineman. Just a hunch.
How do you set your player rankings in this league. I go to the 'my rankings' tab and get the page up but there is no list (java?) to move players from. (and nothing in the forum about it)
So Smeg, I thought we were going to have a 2nd FFL league going. Are we just replacements to the main league?
just sorting out something on how the draft works with two conferences/leagues with fanstar, as soon as I have a response from them i will post details on start time, time limit and positions. I essence would like to start maybe next friday and leaning torwards a 10 hours limit, mostly just for my time difference. we will be using the site to draft but with my limited web access during work hours, we can also post picks here, and i will probably need some email assistance for my picks
ok the draft will start this Friday the scoring is on the site and will be same as last year, the positions are QB, WR, RB, TE, 3x Off Flex (WR, RB, TE), Kicker, LB, DB, DL and two Def Flex. maximum numbers of each position on each roster will be on the site, only bug change from last year is you can only carry 2 QBs. There will be 10 hours limit between pick for those with bookend picks the limit will be 15 hours for both picks combined. anything else we need to deal with before it starts please do so asap
Sounds good. Regarding time per pick, how about having a decreasing window for people who use up all their time: for example, I use ten hours for my first round pick. For my second round pick, I only get six hours, and if I let the clock run out again, I only get four for the rest of the draft (bookend picks decrease from 15 to 10 to 5).
Fades idea is fair. Which also covers the bookend picks at the same time. If you miss your pick the penalty is not to harm you, it's to save the other 13 people from waiting for you everytime.
Decreasing time window sounds deece. Of course, I'll probably be the first to be penalized and then I'll whine, throw things and scream at my dog...but I tend to calm down rather quickly.
If we are starting this Friday, then that gives you approximately 36 hours to put together an unbelievable trade package to move up and grab that NUMBER 1 PICK.... Any trade would have to involve several picks and financial considerations.

ok, here is my repsonse If you miss your pick, then you can pick whenever you get on, but next time you pick you lose 2 hours on your time limit, ie 8 hrs after first miss, for bookends, if you miss both then you lose 2 hrs for the first pick and 1 hour for the second. is that ok?? and as for the second league lets start that next week, we still need more players. btw anyone check out the draft interface on the site, it is sweet, can everyone make sure they enter there picks there please!!!!!! really the league site is the key rather than on the this bbs
