No Poodl4 the pet roo will just sit on your lap, amazing a thread like this brings the vets out of the woodword, can the cosmos contain itself if Smeg and AntiSonic are in the same room. Kev - i will email you about this but obviously i need two tickets, which is really it but it would for as many of the millions and millions of Smeginites to attend. All i need from you Kev is to purchase me two now and remember Australia makes some damn fine red wine!!!! As for the price, i don't really care, even though 1 American dollar is worth half australia GDP, the $46 would be fine with me and mrs, but if the majority of the group needs cheaper then make it so. So really for all those interested we need a price you are willing to spend and remember if you want in for the game and the chance to meet the people's Smeg then you'd had also better commit for one of Behad's burnathon bbq with that skanky bright yellow cheese on top of everything burnt!!!!!!
You have angered the BBQ gods. Now all your roo burgers will be tough and your shrimp will not be deveined! BTW, send me the recipe for smoked koala, plus I need your shoe size for the rubber boots. Bring your own sheep, of course!
I will try to make it. However, I have to come one of 2 ways: 1) Drive, which will take 16 hours and mean that I would have to leave early Sunday morning. 2) Fly into Houston and try to stay in a hotel unless someone wants to put me up for the night. I can pay for a room if the price is reasonable. If I fly Southwest, I could probably get a cheap price for an airline ticket, and especially if someone is willing to take me in cheaply or not at all, then it would be great because I could also stay around on Sunday and fly back Sunday night. I would hate to drive because I will probably have a tough time convincing someone to come with me since there is no Ms. Manny Ramirez. I'll try to get it where my class schedule for next semester to be on Tuesday and Thursday but not on Monday, but I guess it doesn't matter if I get back on Sunday night. Maybe Spring Break will be around that time...that would definitely make things easier. So, I guess go ahead and count me in for a ticket, but since I'll probably be flying in, I need a $26 ticket. If something happens, where I can't come, I'll just give my ticket to Smeg as a wedding present. At any rate, someone (hp, Smeg, etc.) let me know what would be the best thing to do for my situation. But I can't pass up the opportunity to meet people off the BBS in person.
Guys, before we organize this, we may be able to get some discounts and grouped together seating from the Rockets. I've met with their marketing people a couple times over the past two months to discuss things of this nature and they said they would be happy to provide special considerations for games like this. Similar to the ClutchCity.net night out we did two seasons ago, the tickets would be handled by the Rockets directly rather than us having to gather all the money in advance. There is actually a person working for the Rockets now handling nothing but fan interaction and feedback. I will drop her an email and let her know the situation and see what we can setup. They are very anxious to accomodate BBS members, which is great. Plus, this way, we could invite anyone from the BBS and make it a real night out. Seem reasonable? Manny, drop me an email at jeff@clutchcity.net. Thanks.
I will fly in for that. I definately need to get to houston for a home game. and if there is a black top game in it for us I am in double. keep me posted on price I will have to get airline tickets as well you know peace
OK everyone, $26 it is. Let's hurry with this, because as a season ticketholder, I can buy them before they go on sale to the general public. Anyone wanting other seats can do it through standards means. The Rockets do not do discounts. NOTE: we have to move FAST on this I'll email everyone in this thread tomorrow with details. Please edit your User info if it doesn't contain a good email address for you, or email me one. If you want to give Smeggy a wedding gift, consider getting extra tickets, and we'll just let Smeggy allocate them throughout the season to newbies and other people who might not see this thread. Here's who I have: 6-heypee 1-rockHEAD 2-Sonny 2-Crisco 2-Achebe 2-Behad 1-The Cat 2-x34 1-AntiSonic 1-Castor27 2-Puedlfor 1-Manny 1-VOR 3-anonymous people from emails 27 seats Jeff thx for the offer, but that's just going to confuse everyone who wants to sit with Smeggy. This is block for Smeggy's friends on behalf of his wedding and US honeymoon.
Just so everyone knows, the Rockets game is Saturday, April 12th. The Smeggy BBS basketball game will be Sunday, April 13th in League City. Time and location to be determined. I'm about 75% sure I can get a gym for us, but if not, there are a number of outdoor courts in the area we can use.
That sounds great - I am up for a game of hoops! You better start practicing Crisco! 26$ sounds perfect. Still have enough for beer/nachos.
One thing i forgot to post. Since we are going with $26 seats I am in for 2. I'll try and talk my wife into going if not I'll find someone to bring. CK
I don't give a damn about Smeg, I just want to see the game. I hope that clown didn't bring his kangaroos with him. EDIT : Ok, nevermind, didn't see that Crisco had already said he was in... whew... saved me $26.
Crisco will be In!!! but don't get to excited once you see the left handed black hole shoot you will wish you were back in Dallas!!!!!
Wow, I am genuinely touched, Doc... sniffles ...no more old man jokes by me anymore! Yea, I am going to try to make it. The only way that I could not come is if something came up at work, but as of right now, it is about 85% that won't happen. You don't have to buy my ticket, but if you want to do that then that would be great.
Yeah, it's on me - I'll buy it... just promise me you won't sit next to me or talk to me. If you can't make it, I'm sure we can give it away to someone else. HeyPee - adjust my total to 2 tix. I'll edit my previous post.
