He was next on my list. I really wanted to take him, but half the stuff I read said he would likely play great. The other half said he'd likely play good for half the year before tailing off due to age.
A few months ago, I read an interview in which Smith stated that he was embarassed by his drug suspension-shortened season last year and vowed to work extra hard during the offseason and training camp to regain elite status. I filed that little bit of info away in my mind. Fast forward to the start of training camp. Smith showed up at a svelte 198 lbs, reporting that he feels better and faster than he has in years, which is important because speed has always been a critical part of his game. It seems to be true, too, as he's been routinely blowing away the younger defensive players in camp. That he's 35 is a bit of a bother, but that's about the only negative I see, and the fact that he's in better physical shape than last year makes me feel good about his chances. After the relatively risky pick of Shockey last round, I wanted someone who was reliable. I admit I'd have looked long and hard at Koren Robinson had he been available, though.
I need another back, maybe I'll take Ricky he should still out perform the cast of characters available or I could always grab my third wide out.
We are scraping the bottom of the rb barrell now. I thought Chris Brown would have made it at least this far. Emmitt might even go early. We'll see,. Still some decent Wr's left.
Trust me, I've spent the past hour and a half trying to cinvince myself that one of these guys were worth the pick here and it's not going too well. Give me a little more time, i'll try to pick before the end of this hour.
LOL I've only read a couple of pages, but I did notice Smeg reference my "vague" list. I made my list in about 3 minutes at a library in Brandon, Fla. I only had a couple of minutes of computer time. That was the best I could do. It's been a whirlwind 2 weeks. I've been to Pensacola Beach, Tampa, Orlando, five days at Disneyworld, then Savannah, Ga. for two days, back to Pensacola Beach, now home. 12 days of living out of a suitcase, in one room hotel rooms with a wife a 3 kids. I'm tired.
Two quick photos: My daughter in front of the Aerosmith Rockin Roller Coaster giant guitar: The greatest thrill ride ever!!!! The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror! We rode it three times.
Ruptured another disc in my neck. Been living on Vicodin for weeks now. It's not as painful as last time, but still hurts. Fortunately it isn't my lower back again, or I would not have been able to do Disney. Another MRI on Thursday, then they will decide if I need more surgery to fuse C5 to C6. (C6 and C7 are already fused together.) I did it playing basketball. My playing days are officially over. Bummer.
email me some more pics, the mrs would love to see them good luck with back and apologies for your draft picks
The draft picks are my fault, not yours. I just didn't have time to get ready, what with the father in law problems and all. It'll be tomorrow before I can email you all the pics I want you to see. Right now they are too big file sizes and need to be reduced a bit.
