I found that out during our baseball draft. I didn't even put it on auto and it took carl crawford with my second pick. When I saw the Jonathan Vilma pick in the 5th round I knew the site wasn't picking according to your rankings. I don't really like to trade but if I can help you out let me know. I am very deep at recievers.
jent your team isn't that bad if you add a couple receivers here and there. You've got a studly defense.
Rocketball -- Please edit your first post on page 1 to include a link to the league website. WHEN WILL PEOPLE START REMEMBERING TO DO THIS??????????? Some people (i.e. me) need to go through the BBS to access it at work.
Thanks Castor!!! Fade, I am suppose to know that you have to go through the BBS to get to the website, why is that again? I guess going to the thread about 4 down from this one that said "Old Smeg Fantasy....." would have been too much work.... I'll leave you alone, Castor came to the rescue...
Thanks, Castor. #1. Because I've requested people do this for like two years and nobody ever remembers. Y'all need a good slappin'. People who use multiple or public computers do not have access to bookmarks. #2. That's fine for now. But, that thread will disappear from the front page in a week or so. #3. You're just lucky I edited out the angry face smilie in my first draft of my post. Don't make me put it back in there.
Rocketball 09-02-2006, 10:33 PM #20 I have not heard from DeAleck and A-team....is either still planning on playing. If so, let us know, or we may have to drop to 12 before the draft. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=117163&page=1&pp=20
This is not fair. I have been planning on playing all along. I simply didn't have the time to visit CF.net everyday to see what's up. I didn't get an email or notice or anything about me having to reply or otherwise getting dropped. I signed up, got a team and now expect to play. Simply dropping people from the league without any reason is a horrible way to handle things.
That's not the point, my friend. I didn't show up for the draft didn't mean I didn't want to play. Where does it say that I have to show up for the draft to not get kicked out? I didn't clean my room today, do you want to make that a reason for doing what you did as well? I was on a camping trip to Arizona over the labor day weekend, and there was no way I could attend the draft. I didn't set the time, but I am OK with it. The auto picker should pick players for me, shouldn't it? I have been very busy to prepare for my graduate school admission test too, so I couldn't get on CF.net to check everything. Why weren't emails sent to notice people? The league manager did a very unjustifiable thing by arbitrarily kicking out other league members for someone else's benefit. I wouldn't be this surprised if it were some random league on Yahoo or ESPN. However, this is the old Smeg league, which is an annual tradition on CF.net. I wanted to be in this league last year, but was too late to register. I got on this year soon after it was announced, and have been excited about this ever since. But finding out before the first game that I was kicked out without a reason totally shocked me. If this is a legit league that passionate players come to play, things shouldn't be handled this way.
Half the fun of a fantasy league is the draft. The other half is talking trash on the message board. If you were too busy to participate in the first part of that, then maybe this wasn't the best year for you to join the game. Plus, the autopicker sucks, as we found out, which leads to bad teams. I'm sure someone will drop out next season and you'll have a chance to join up again. Good luck with the GREs!
DeAleck, I am not going to get into a long, drawn out debate and insulting match with you, especially over fantasy football. However, I posted several times about the draft, league, interest, ect. and coming from someone says they really wanted to be in the league and we invite them in - and the first time we hear back from them is 30 minutes before the kickoff to week 1, bypassing the draft and everything - I honestly won't loose a lot of sleep over the decision. I do apologize for what I did, and will take all the blame, but neither you or the A-team showed up for the draft, pre-ranked your players, log onto your team, sent me a list or even let me know you couldn't make it - therefore I had to assume you either forgot you were in the league or were no longer interested. This CF leagues have always been a lot of fun and everyone is very active in it and we want to keep it that way. So if you are someone new coming you think you would have shown some interest prior to now and if not we have to make a decision to what's best for the league. I let everyone know that I may have to go from 14 teams to 12, if they don't let me know or show up prior to the draft. Trust me on this, the way the draft went with the technical issues, I could not have handled drafting for 2 more teams - since once the draft started auto-pick was not working. Once again, I do apologize and would welcome you next year, but I assume I pissed you off enough, by your comments that you would not be intereted. If you have any other comments/questions, you can email me..... .......but I am turning this back to the FF smack board......
Now that the first weekend of football is halfway over, let me take this opportunity to say that I regret not getting back in the league. I really miss pouring over box scores on a Sunday afternoon.
Rook -- I noticed some serious errors with regard to scoring. Why did you change the scoring system? Our scoring has always been: 1 point per 30 yards passing 1 point per 15 yards rushing 1 point per 10 yards receiving Instead, the league site is showing 1 point per 20 yards passing, 10 yards rushing and 15 yards receiving. Also, I did a check before the draft and the scoring system was correct at that point. For some reason, it has been changed since then.
Fade, I just got in and have no idea why the scoring had changed - as I never have done anything to that from when I took over with Smeg, I just left it the way it was. I do have say that the way you said it is on the site now makes much more sense than the way it was (it seems you should get as many points per rushing yard as a receiving yard, if not more), but I can change it back. Does everybody agree that is the way it was, cause I really don't know. The last thing I want to do is change it without someone else agreeing with Fade, so somebody tell me and we will set it back.
Rushing and receiving yards used to be of equal value a long time ago, but the league decided to make receiving yards worth a bit more so that the top receivers were on par with the top RBs. This happened like 2 or 3 years ago. Before the change, RBs were worth a lot, lot more than WRs. With the 10/15 yard difference, there is more parity between the positions. The site currently has rushing yards more valuable, which is the complete opposite of how it should be. The only thing I'm not 100% certain of is the punt/kick return yardage. My first instinct is 1 point per 50 yards punt/kick returning, but I could be wrong there. The other figures I am sure about.
Allright I will change it back to what you said it was suppose to be, but if I get blasted for this I am taking you down with me. Bottom line is, I don't want it to change from where we started with....
You know, I had no idea what our scoring rules were before drafting, I just assumed they were "standard". Here's what I found just searching the forum, posted by Behad in 03. No idea if these are still valid, someone please tell me if they've changed.
