I guess since we will need to do a live draft, we could always make the league public to fill the last spot. Should we do that? Also when would be a good day/time to aim for the draft? I will try to get the site reactivated and in order tomorrow.

Okay, I have it set for Sunday coming. I had to make it for 7:30 pm Houston time as there was no availability for 7.
One of the newcomers still has not joined. No idea which one as the team names are not matching up with BBS names (big pet peeve). If they haven't joined by mid-day tomorrow, I am just going to open up the league to the public to fill it, so we will be drafting tomorrow regardless.

So unlike on Yahoo it seems that making a league publicly searchable does not in fact open it up for public registration, and there seems to be no way to do that on ESPN. I have reached out to everyone I can think of, but it is not looking good to fill the last open spot, despite my efforts. So we are going to have to make some tough decisions: 1) Postpone tonight's draft and hope the empty spot fills before the season starts. 2) Kick out one of the newcomers and proceed with 8 teams. 3) Proceed with 9 teams and have bye weeks where teams on bye play against the league average or something. Might require manual adjustments for results from me during the season. Got about 3 hours before a decision is required.
Or maybe... 4) Set up a dummy team with an alt account that auto-drafts and makes no transactions during the season other than those necessary to maintain a complete lineup This might be easier than #3.
