wow, Rocket G apparently finds it hard to believe that someone could just lose control of a plane, because i guess it's never happened before.

did you also find it hard to believe reports that the sun set in the west yesterday?

and on top of it all, he's particularly offended that someone would try to make their plane more safe. apparently that's just stupid.

RIP to cory and prayers to his family.

I just realized that is the same building I used to look at when I work out at the 76th St. NYSC gym. Weird..

So did Iran cause him to crash or was it the Israeli lobby?

you know its funny, what would be the reaction if a player killed himself in a motorcycle crash. should there be flying plane clauses in contracts. I know flying is the safest form of transportation but I think that takes into account that usually they are flown by very experienced pilots.

It's funny how people love to judge someone before they even know the whole story or even knew the person.

    Yep.

NTSB: Wind blew Cory Lidle's plane into high-rise

    By LESLIE MILLER
    Associated Press

WASHINGTON — A stiff wind was cited by federal investigators today for blowing a small airplane carrying Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle off course and into a New York City high-rise on Oct. 11.

The National Transportation Safety Board said the wind, coupled with the pilot's inability to turn sharply, forced the aircraft away from its intended path over the East River and into the building.

The airplane, which also carried flight instructor Tyler Stanger, struck the building and fell 30 stories to the street below. Investigators do not say whether they determined who was at the controls of the Cirrus SR20.

The report issued Friday said the airplane was flying along the East River between Manhattan and Queens when it attempted a U-turn with only 1,300 feet of room for the turn. To make a successful turn with a wind of 8 miles-an-hour from the East, the aircraft would have had to bank so steeply that it might have stalled.

Lidle and Stanger were making an aerial tour of Manhattan before flying back to California.
