I could be wrong but I dont think he has actually forfeited any money yet. I thought what I read was that him sitting made a possible bonus next season “unlikely” in the eyes of cap calculations, but is still out there for him to earn if he plays enough this season.
https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/20...gain-more-salary-cap-room-for-2023-offseason/ If he had played the Rockets would not have $2.5M to use this off-season. Rockets shouldn't be ungrateful. Ask him if he ok's a trade only (this season).
No way do we need a 6'4 small forward. Hopefully Tari is refining his game and working on that jumper. I think it's inevitable that KJ gets traded at some point. Maybe they get lucky and land Cam. Things are gonna heat up soon.
Right so he didn’t give up any money. He did the Rockets a favor to allow them more cap space without actually costing himself any money.
Correct "did the Rockets a favor" Not meant to say.....I'm helping those left behind improve the quality of players around them, while you ship my behind off or kick me to the curb like trash.
Fairly sure it won’t be KMJ under any circumstances. In fact, pretty sure they will trade him, because of how bad he stinks on defense.
He didn’t do the Rockets a favor. They can sit him if they want to. Sitting him opened up more free agent money for them and didn’t cost him anything. I guess he did them a favor by not freaking out and throwing anything?
Yeah I meant to reply earlier that in reality classifying this as a favor was extremely generous. He had no say in the matter and it literally doesn’t change a single thing for him.
They listed him as injured....he could have said he could play. He had been playing. League would step in a fine the Rockets. Wouldn't that fine go against the salary? New England Patriots get caught fudging the injury reports all the time and get fined accordingly. Some of you are promoting shady practices and bad culture. Now wonder the league hates us. https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/new...and-puts-false-information-on-injury-reports/ Keep your bush league shenanigans on your recreational league. Most of you would set your hair on fire if the Rockets asked Sengun to sit a game and call it an injury. Bunch of hypocrites
Depends on if we get a PG or not. If we do, I can see them sliding KPJ over to the 3 spot to see how he shakes out. As poor as he was the primary playmaker, he still has a lot of talent and it would be incredibly dumb not to see if he can fit somewhere in our starting lineup. With that said, KMJ is definitely the strong contender for an upset. As for Tari, I don't personally think he is as much a s a dark horse as some do as I would be VERY surprised if he started. Outside of his hustle and always looking to play off actual scorers, he made a lot of mistakes and blew a lot of bunnies last season. His biggest advantage is that Udoka is coming in as a blank slate and really won't know too much about him as a player yet.
