    CLASSIC potential!

    Sorry can't help it.

I guess you got over it pretty quick eh? Vince goes from the next Michael Jordan to a guy you dont even need to watch. :p

But I have never been one to reject people from a bandwagon. The more fans the better!

Yeah DD, wasn't that laser bomb to AJ in the KC game just sick!! I had to do a double take. Texans having a QB actually go vertical, no checkdowns? Amazing.

It helps that this team is forging an identity. In Carolina, some or most on the fence had to be impressed with a new wind blowing from this squad that spoke "so we're down by two touchdowns, we'll get it back no problem." In the past, 14 points down equaled we're screwed, panic the sky is falling, the sky is falling. Not anymore. It seems like we have a coaching staff that knows how to develop talent and translate it into success and we have a GM that knows what the HELL he's doing. I mean is Smitty = King Midas? It sure seems that way. What a difference! What a refreshing change!

I remember when DD was on one of his silly little "the Texans will never win because they didn't draft VY" hissy-fits and I thought to myself that one day real soon, he would start a thread EXACTLY like this. And now, here he is. What a shock...

Just wait until we lose a few games. Will he jump back off?

Anyone is welcome on this bus. Except for that 'twoface' kid who had something like "I hate the Texans 4ever!!!!!!!!!111!!!" in his signature.

man, you guys are too easy on DD and the rest of the bandwagoners. do you not remember what we've had to put up with the last 15 months?

*VY is the Micheal Jordan of the NFL
*constant embedding of the VY run against Houston in OT
*neverending VY pictures in texans threads
*"Texans will NEVER win anything b/c they passed on VY"
*Mario is the biggest bust of the draft

it's only gotten pretty quiet now b/c the Texans are winning. Coincidence?

Hey now, my opinions on Vince Young and the draft have not changed one bit.

I still like Vince, and think he will be the best player in the NFL in the next 2 years, and I still believe it was a major mistake the Texans made in sticking with Carr and not drafting Vince.

However, I grew up in Houston, and have more players etc I like on the Texans.....

Anyone know how long Andre is out, he has scored the most points on my fantasy team....and if he is out 4 weeks, I can kiss the season good bye.

*VY is the Micheal Jordan of the NFL - I still believe this....
*constant embedding of the VY run against Houston in OT..I did not do this
*neverending VY pictures in texans threads..I did not do this
*"Texans will NEVER win anything b/c they passed on VY"..I have consistently said that they have been drafting high and will one day get it.
*Mario is the biggest bust of the draft - Not sure about this, I still think you don't draft a defensive lineman as the number one pick in the draft.

If you are going to call me out, at least be accurate, I get blamed for a lot of stuff that I didn't do because of my large numbers of posts.

At the time, yes. Carr's play last year proved that sticking with him was a HUGE mistake. Not much debate on that one.

But we really got lucky with the way this all played out. We ended up with a QB (Schaub) who has much more upside than Vince/Bush/Leinart IMO and we STILL got a stud DE out of the deal. Something the titans, Cardinals, and Saints did not.

Unless the Texans had their eye on Schaub all along (which I doubt), everything has just lined up perfectly. Good thing because we were definitely due for some good luck for a change.

Lots of teams had their eyes on Schaub for a while.

I would disagree here, I think VY has the most upside of any player in the NFL, but if you are saying Schaub + Williams is greater than VY......that is a toss up to me.....

No doubt, and all those high draft picks are starting to get it, Houston could be good for a long time.....which makes Clevland look all the sillier !

    :D

Yeah, which reinforces my point that we were lucky to have things work out the way they did. There was certainly no guarantee that we would get him because of all the other teams interested in him.

What I meant in saying I doubt the Texans had their eye on him was that I don't think their grand scheme was to sign Carr, then sign Schaub a year later and release Carr. It just worked out that way. We lucked out.

Schaub could be good enough to get us to the Super Bowl one day, remember that you don't have to have a hall of famer qb with the legendary mystique to get to the super bowl these days, witness rex grossman and matt hasselbeck and jake delhomme, he just has to be steady reliable and not make the big mistakes.

With that said, the mystique factor is with VY, he has that John Elway mystique of pulling out victories from jaws of defeat, if they ever build a supporting cast around him and give him a go to receiver and a stud running back, he'll win alot of games and probably have a few games he pulled out nicknamed ala The Drive or The Catch. Just saying from a marketing standpoint, he would of been a natural face of the franchise especially if its your hometown. *No, this ain't a VY knob slob post*

What a great feeling it is for team that I have been rooting for and standing behind since the beginning is finally coming around. This is so much more satisfying then jumping on when times are good and jumping off when things go bad. Can we tag him "Bandwagon fan" for a few years?

Precisely! I have no issue whatsoever with "bandwagon" fans. If someone's interest in a sports franchise is piqued only when said franchise is winning, so what? The person has other prevailing interests; it says nothing of his character whatsoever (unless he lies about it or something).

Now, whiners I have a problem with. But this "TRUE FAN!!!!" nonsense is ridiculous. It's an entertainment choice. Deal with it.

Come one, come all to the Texans bandwagon!

    GO TEXANS!
