Wait, wait... are you comparing the 25 year old Smith to the 30 year old Floyd? Sleepy was great at 25 but was a shell of his former glory by the time the Rox got Smith. Just like Kenny was at his best when the Rox got him but then saw his scoring and assist numbers drop every season he was a Rocket. By 30, Kenny was just about done, too. If you're comparing the prime seasons of Kenny and Sleepy, I think Sleepy brought more to the table. Kenny was a great shooter, but he wasn't agressive the way that Sleepy was. One of them still holds the record for most points in a half (39) and a quarter (29) in a playoff game. And that guy isn't Kenny Smith. With Yao Ming out, we need guards who can score. And at his best, Sleepy was a better scorer (and defender) than Kenny Smith ever was. That's what we'd need in a Rafer replacement scenario.
LOL, that video of Sleep shows nothing but a ball hog! Easy pick. BTW, Nick Anderson for MVP of Game 1 of the finals!
Howabout this. Rafer is having a great run but given the chance I would take either Kenny Smith or Sleepy Floyd over Rafer.
Speaking of flat did you ever see Rudy T's jumper? It went in a straight line right at hoop level where it hit the back of the hoop and fell in. Now THAT was a flat shot! BTW, it's Kenny by a mile. Sleepy Floyd was less than terrible by the time he got here. I had the unfortunate privilege of seeing him play in person back then. All of those folks voting for Sleepy must be doing so out of spite for Kenny's comments on TNT because if they had ever seen Sleepy play here, they would never vote him over Kenny.
