There are larger doses of melatonin to buy, but you just don't need a large dose. I would not take more than one 3mg pill. Not that it will harm you, but your body already produces it naturally and you just don't need it in large doses. I would try to take it about the same time everynight if possible to get your body on some sort of schedule
You need to be titrated off klonopin as it can worsen the symptoms if you stop regular use abruptly. Though it can be addictive, this by itself does not equate to addiction. Same with xanax, but I don't use it regularly....just here and there to help me sleep. I've tried anti-depressants, but I'm not chronically depressed or chronically anxious. My anxiety is pretty situation-specific (in my case it's school) and don't need something to take all the time. Anti-depressants truly numbed me out. I hated the damn things and they didn't help me sleep a bit, which is why I talked to my doctor in the first place. I'd talk to your doc in more detail or see a psychiatrist if you're not already.
