I'm not saying he's the best pick at 2, but this dude put up basically 14/5/5 in a 40 minute game for a 31-1 national championship runner up. I would expect those numbers to translate to a 48 minute NBA game and build from there. The biggest intangible being coming in with the expectation to lead the team and WIN. The mindset of 'give me the ball down the stretch, ima win this' ... I would not be opposed to trading down to 3 or 4 and drafting Suggs, the KPJ/Suggs backcourt could actually be a winning combination. What ya'll think??
Suggs is definitely the preferred pick to be my starting guard. But casuals aren't being told he's the pick by "experts", so most of them don't know any better when something has the significant majority on cf's, it typically doesn't turn out well. that's been true for years now
Only one player out of Mobley/Green/Suggs isn't built like a dead twig The only one out of those 3 with next-level vision
Just for reference, Suggs dropped 22 points, 3 assist, 2 steals on 8-15 shooting in the game where he "folded / didn't live up to his name"
Neither Mobley or Green lose the ball off their foot as often as Suggs does. I like him but he is best on team with Lebron, Luka or Harden so he is not lead PG, especially in half court.
Because they don't run their teams offenses lol, Mobley and Green have worse A/TO ratios they aren't creators at this point Suggs showed real, next-level vision on many plays, I don't agree that he has to be off ball, I think he can be a legit PG who runs a team
It's not pretty but he still made it a better clip and a much greater volume than the Mobley. Just needs some practice on the mechanics, but he shouldn't be taken over Mobley.
