    man all you had to do was look at Boki's summer league stats to know what might be coming from him. one good game against four horrors. and this is against scrubs! research is always more substantive than heresay.

    whats the hearsay on Yao Ming...? does steve think he will do well also.

    Yeah, Steve loves Yao. I hung out with Yao for about a week last season writing the cover story we did on him and Steve, and I came away really impressed with Yao, too. He seems so ready to work and learn. He was constantly asking Colin to teach him new words, and he even told me a dirty joke in the locker room one afternoon (though I had to promise secrecy to Colin to get him to translate it).

    Even if they'll never say it, all the guys on the Rockets love Yao because he's bringing tons of media attention to the team -- and to each of them -- that they'd never get without him.

    I think Van Grumpy is going to make the Rockets a lot better, probably as soon as this year. Wouldn't be surprised if he tries to trade a few guys. First guess would be Cuttino, because I'm not sure he can play the way Van Gundy's going to want him to -- defense first, pass it to Yao second, shoot third. We'll see, I guess...
