Fans make their feelings known as Chicago Cubs Sammy Sosa bats in the eighth inning of a game against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards in Baltimore Tuesday, June 10, 2003. Sosa, who singled in the at-bat, filed an appeal of his eight-game suspension for using a corked bat earlier in the day.(AP Photo/Roberto Borea)

So somebody throws a cork at Sosa? I dont condone what Sammy did but hes going to pay the price. He will be suspended and his legacy is forever tarnished. He dosent need idiots harassing him too. I have a feeling that this kind of "stuff" will continue for a while. I dont wanna say it but I feel sorry for the guy. He shouldnt have to worry about his personal safety while playing a kids game.

He's doing this to himself. Why appeal. Even he knows he got caught. It just looks bad. Sure, he's doing it so that maybe he'll get less games. Or maybe so he can play the Yankees. But give me a break. If you are guilty you pay the consequences. And yet, Sammy is somehow exempt despite the fact that the evidence is laying in someone's office. The preverbial smoking gun. Why appeal. He's not owning up to what happened at all. Why feel sorry for the guy.
