nonetheless...after watching the tapes my cousins recorded of the championship seasons, i can honestly say that hakeem hasn't received the hype that he should receive... this article did him justice...
Great article. I agree that the Dream deserves more recognition. Time for Spalding to release the retro Dreams with the huge 34 on the side!!! MANG!!!
now this is a freaking **** piece.... How is nadal/federer even remotely comparable when jordan not once, not ever f#$king knocked out hakeem. Everyone wants to give jordan 8 straight championships like it was a no brainer. The knicks nearly beat them in 93 and likely would have the following year even if jordan was there. The bulls needed to restructure that roster and the "retirement" of jordan forced them to anyway. Nevermind the fact that he got stomped by the magic who we eventually swept anyways. There is no way jordan wins 8 straight championships if he didn't retire and the bulls were never ever a thorn in the rockets side. You could make a much more convincing argument that jordan got his rings because seattle took houston out for him.
With Dream we would be in the NBA finals and favored to win. That excludes Yao, Tmac, and Deke. No fronting, because he would alley oop all night long (Yao's weakness), Block shots all night long, so no driving by Kobe. Shane and Artest would lock up Hedo and Rashard and Dream would kill Dwight Ewing II with those ancient Pat Ewing moves. Why Dwight doesn't go to YouTube and study Dream amazes me. We have Dream trying to teach Yao his move, which will never work. We have Pat teaching Dwight who is closer to Dream in athletic ability than any other center I've seen.
