He's 6-9 with long arms, not Gasol's size, but no undersized.

This is like the 3rd topic that you have posted this on and everytime you do, everyone disagrees with you.

Every team makes a draft board based on THEIR needs or how much success they feel a player will have in their system .. so if morey has his in top 6 of HIS draft board, he is probably not saying he is the 6th best player, he is saying he is the 6th best player to fit our team. They decide that based on what the scouts and coaches say.. ill take the collective opinion of rockets scouts, coaches and GM over the singlular opinion of a poster on clutch fans.

I thought Landry was KT 2.0
    So Patterson is KT 3.5

    From DraftExpress.com

    Patrick Patterson 6-8 6-9.25 240 7-1.25 8-11 5.3

I thought his standing reach was 9-1, but it is only 8-11.

He has essentially same standing reach as the following players (in some cases slightly longer):

    Joakim Noah
    Al Horford
    Chris Wilcox
    Drew Gooden

I don't think size was an issue for any of these guys as far as PFs go, some of them even play C.

Patterson may or may not pan out, but being undersized is unlikely to be an issue.

I think this guy is going to be so much more. So so much more.

Remember how much you loved Mario Elie? or Kenny Thomas or Carl Landry? I think we are going to love this guy so much more.

He's got ambition with no loss of humility. He expects great things from himself and he knows his place. He love his momma and Jesus and he's got muscles and long arms.

He can defend, shoot the 3, and take it to the basket. He's smart.

Patty Pat is going to be your next most untradeable asset come the trade deadline.

Owned! LOL at the random poster saying DM doesn't know anything about drafting people.

Anyway my only problem with Patrick Patterson is he has the mentality of a role player. He reminds me a lot C-bud in that the desire to be one of the best players in the league isn't really there.

If you're looking only at PP's body type and skillset, then the Amare comparisons aren't that far off since he's basically a clone of Al Horford, except he can also hit the mid-range J. However judging from the way he deferred to Wall and Cousins in his final year, I'd say he's content to just be a minor piece in the puzzle. I don't really see him maximizing his potential, but I hope I'm wrong because honestly he has the potential to be one of the best bigs in the draft.

As long as he doesn't jack up three's like he did in the 1st 2 games in the SL, he will be a solid backup to Scola.

He might even take some minutes from Hayes.

What the hell, I posted that 20 days ago.

Good for you, You want a cookie? Like I keep saying I like Patterson as a player and we got awesome value at the spot we got him at. But at 6, you would of past up a future star or a better player with upside then him.

    Dog> you.

Step down newbie and slap yourself. Like I said I posted that 20 days ago and I was a little taken back when ya'll ganged up on me like I was a white guy with a bucket of chicken in the ghetto.

since the emergence of j-hill there has to be a trade coming.. too much talent down there to waste it.. if you distributed our talent from our stacked positions to our others(through trade) we'd be a much better team. i.e.- brooks lowry, martin-lee, hill-pp(potential wise)

Lol, how does Patterson get ranked without playing a single NBA minute?

I don't think I'd say Jordan Hill has emerged any time recently. He's continuing what he started at the end of last season, before we drafted Patterson. If Hill's play didn't prevent us from drafting Patterson, I don't think it will necessitate trading him either. Of course, we do have too many assets at PF and someone will eventually get traded. But, I don't see the hurry.

This class ('10) is struggling right now.

John Wall is the only who has looked like an all star player.

Cousins is a headache in Sacramento, but he has acutally been pretty decent and had few nice games.

Landry Fields in productivity is somewhere in top 4, he has been a real surprise for the Knicks. Named rookie of the month.
