Keeping up my advanced tech agent job at Sprint and freelancing on the side. Wish I had the balls to go all in with my degree, but I ain't givin up good guranteed money during these crazy times, at least not while I'm helping to support family. Good too see a lot of my classmates are doing well though, at least the the sports arena (my former roomate is one of the lead sportswriters for the OKC newspaper now). Earl used to have a gig late night on Dallas sports radio (103.3 ESPN, I think). I wonder he's still doing that too...
Are you serious? I can't tell the internet is a testy thing. Black gold is oil. Hence the comparison of finding "black gold" in Texas.
Well I am thinking he didn't proofread before he posted. And my comment is still awaiting moderation!! Edit: No I take that back... he must of deleted it without posting it.. cause now it doesn't even show that it's there awaiting moderation! I hate that. There was nothing at all foul or derogatory in my post so there was no reason to delete it other than embarrassment that he is an idiot. /rant
black gold is oil. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_gold really doesn't make sense with scola though.
My comment is still awaiting moderation. Funny part is that in his article comments section he admits the following: Jul.1 at 10:18 pm Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says: Will, you’re right, San Anton drafted Scola and traded his rights in 07′…Jul.1 at 10:22 pm Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says: yeah, Scola was drafted in 02′ and played in the Euroleague til his rights got traded to Houston However, he has yet to fix his article! I know that I posted the thread containing this article. The main purpose was that I wanted people on the board to contact him and let him know that this kind of garbage is not allowed. But since he decided to ignore our comments, I would not be opposed if articles from SlamOnline or this author would be banned from the Clutchfans BBS.
Off topic Hint: Oil to Gold prices Well anyway, the Rockets have done pretty well for about the last two drafts and offseason FA periods. I know this pretty unpopular, but I am gonna say wait on a 3rd scorer. It's not so pressing right now, because of the off season and etc. But, I would like to see the team wait a minute to go after a third wheel and see how much better the rookies from last season (Scola/Landry) will be this season and even take a look at draftees: Dorsey and Greene. It is too early to tell if they will be NBDL or be legitimate contributors. Also, Im not ready to completely sell Steve Francis out of the equation, even though he's older and not as good as used to be...you never know. I'm not saying if the right deal comes along, not trade any players. I just don't think that need to be rushed to make a desperate move, like Phoenix and Dallas. Houston tried the win now scenario in way, but it didn't work. So, I thought health was bigger concern than fielding a great roster. The roster becomes an issue, when players start to go down with injuries. Every team does I guess, which is why I think the draft is so important to bring in fresh bodies who can take grind of 82 game marathon. That way T-Mac and Co. don't have to go pedal to metal mode. We have actually gotten younger over the last few season, while getting better. I know this is a cliche, but since January 2008, we were the best team in the west. I think the Rockets were 35-8 in the last part of season. I think. We were almost unbeatable with healthy Yao, who just go into Shaq mode at this point in his career and only look to play about 55 to 70 games a year. If Rockets can crush average teams and sometimes great teams without Yao. He doesn't need to play in every game. Both, Spurs and Lakers (from the Shaq years) routinely rested players at some point in the season.
