    Agreed...

There are 20+ guys on the list who's primes were in the mid to late 90's, or have yet to reach it.

I find it hard to beleive that 2/5 of the list comes from a span of less than 7 years.

    They left out Baron Davis.
In my opinion is just as good of a dunker as Francis if not better.

Did you guys catch that one with Davis on a breakaway and slams it home over Garnett? It's gotta be one of the best dunks ever in a NBA game.

    Who is #5 Jackie Johnson?

Great to see Gus Johnson fairly high; he could be higher. And so should Larry Nance.

Ronnie Fields? How many NBA games did he even play?

You know who else was awesome but had a very undistinguished NBA career...... UH's own Dwight Davis-- drafted #4, I think, by Cleveland. Lasted only 2-3 years in the league. He was a skywalker.

Anyone ever seen this guy in person?

    UNBELIEVABLE

I was at the city championship game when he played with Kevin Garnett at Farragett. Sick, sick, sick ups. Oh man...

I mean---you'd watch him jump block a shot or clowning , and you'd think he'd had reached the apex of his leap and he was still rising. And rising and rising and rising... Like he had Jedi powers or something.

Whew. If only he'd went to Duke or somewhere they could polish him. He had all the tools--body and hops--as a senior. Of course, the rape charge hurt too...

How come Kenny Walker is not on the list at all, but the likes of Quitten and Spree are?

Is it just artistic jams? Remember the ugly dunk Pip had on Ewing?

That's what make lists like this so silly, they're always slanted towards current and recent players.

I mean, no way Carter should be listed ahead of Dr. J, David Thompson, 'Nique, or even Connie Hawkins for that matter.

Last night on TBS\TNT Kenny Smith felt that while Vince is great in dunk contests, he rarely dunks in live action while being defended, a quality that Kenny, and myself, feels should carry a lot of weight when one wants to start talking about great dunkers.

Didn't say anything like that GB.
You can't deny that home court crowd would have an impact on an opinionated competition...oh wait I'm sure you could rationalize it somehow...

    Live and Kenny Smith...

I hate to disagree with you, but living in Toronto, I get to see Vince play every game, and it's actually his in-game dunks that I feel seperates him from the likes of Kobe Bryant...Vince's best dunks have all come in games...Think back to his Olympic exploits, as just one example...He jumped over a 7-footer, in the course of a game.Who else, ever, would have even tried, let alone succeeded? But the other thing is, whenever I see a Kobe dunk, or the like, I swear they seem pale in comparison with what Vince does practically every game. Reggie Miller, Shaq, Barkley, Iverson, Hakeem, and countless others have said that, not only is Carter the best dunker ever, it's not even close. It's not just his hyper-hops, it's his incredible body control in mid-air. Let me ask you this, when was the last time any publication ranked Jordan behind anyone in anything? Think how clear it has to be to overcome that kind of hero-worship...

Rasheed Wallace number 50, ha ha ha ha. Thats a joke, he should at least be in the top 5 because I still remember his ally oop from last season. The best of the whole year, he gets great elevation and doesn't get blocked. Goes up nice and strong, is the best forward and he is just starting to show it right now. I also think that Wells should get some consideration. And of course last but not least the man himself Scottie Pippen who in his time was a great dunker.

That list is ridiculous! Barkley at 9? And where's Clyde? Forget Phi Slamma Jamma. That guy could jump out of the building (obviously they haven't seen him play in a Bloser uni)!

Where's Horry on that list? At his prime he had flashes of Quitten all over him.

    Garnett at 48? OMG!!!!!!!

That Vince Carter Reverse Double pump over Rik Smits ASS two years ago was the most amazing dunk i've ever seen.

He pulls up with 7'2 Rik, with his back against Rik's chest and pumps once...then again...and boom ! Slams it down in his face! That was just amazing...the body control, the air,

As much as I don't like the next Jordan hype and all that, because Jordan was just phenomenal in every aspect of the game.

But I have never seen anyone that can dunk like Carter. If Steve was his height, maybe, but VC is just a monster

GB don't even start with your crap! Everyone outside of chicago knows that Nique won that contest hands down. He did a beautiful 2 handed windmill that completely wrecked the rim and they gave him a 45??????? Neither he nor Jordan had gotten anything less than a 47 all day and a dunk like that gets a 45? He did a one handed earlier that got him a 50, but two is only worth 45? Go back to your little world where all the hype around Jordan is true!!

Back in '91, I remember watching the Blosers play the Jazz on NBC. Magic Johnson was with the commentators and was commenting on how the Glyde was having a horrible shooting game. Then moments later, he gets the ball, slashes down the the lane and throws it down Mt. Mark Eaton's throat! Of course Magic and the commentators were in awe of the dunk. Magic jokingly apologized about his earlier comments. It's the best dunk I've ever seen during a game.

Clyde deserves his own slot on that list.
