Clutch's "The Village" thread got me watching some other new movie trailers.

Anyone seen this movie trailer yet?

It's pretty cool, got a very 50'ish/Batman feel.

Yeah, I'd agree with you on that. I did like Super Troopers though.

Holy cow. Love that style. It's like Metropolis meets TaleSpin.

    Definitely seeing it.

I think it's gonna be cool, to my knowledge, there's never been a live action movie that looks like this one does.

Club Dread should be funny too, I liked Super Troopers, nothing special though.

This movie is nearly entirely CGI, though.

I can't believe this will be the writer/director's first movie, and he's starting out with a $70 million flick starring two Academy Award winners and one Academy Award nominee. And he's not even 30 years-old.

It would be awesome to just be on a set and see how a movie comes together. It would be a dream job to actually get to make a movie.

From watching many making of videos it looks like it could be boring for long stretches to me unless one is the director or camera man/director of photography and constantly working. Most modern films are the collaborative work of many individuals and teams. Think sausage. Video games are the same way for big titles.

As far as anyone knows, it's his first movie period.

Reportedly, he developed some revolutionary CGI software, made a demo that he showed to Aurelio De Laurentiis that was so impressive that De Laurentiis forked over the budget.

As a matter of fact, this technically wasn't a studio movie at all since De Laurentiis funded it. Paramount picked it up for distribution after completion, so technically, it's an indie movie.
