The thing I'd Howard AND Harden do is simply IMPOSE THEY'RE WILL on a game. If Harden's shot is off, he just gives up. If Howard's struggling with his shot, he disappears. When KD's shot isn't falling he finds ways to affect the outcome of the game. We will not win a championship until our superstars get this
Skip says these things to draw attention to him, his show, and his network. Congrats, you fell for it. They don't say intelligent things about sports, they say what brings in ratings and hits.
they need to get on that patbev juice, as everyone moaned about the clips toughest player can't be 6ft, but it's been one bad game relax guys LOL
I agree. Of course Dwight is the better player overall, but Asik plays with more energy and sound defense down the stretch. I wished he would have stayed in longer last night. Dwight should have been dominating w/o Perkins. Even against the Trailblazers, Lopez was dominating Dwight on the boards, had at least 5 blocked shots, and was just out hustling him period. As a max player you need to show your worth. Most teams in the West will have good frontlines, and if Dwight doesn't step up and you're hardly geting anything from the 4 spot and if Beverley struggles offensively, you have 2 starters carrying the load which will not work in the playoffs.
I don't necessarily agree with the Harden part. If his jumper is off he's more likely to look for drives and assists to get into the flow of the game. He's not forcing it nearly as much as he used to. He does similar things as KD, just not as well (who does?). However, I do agree that Howard seems to get in a funk when he doesn't have it going or if he gets shut down early. Someone needs to get in his face about it during a game. Hell, it might wake him up or piss him off enough to light a fire.
lol DH was the #1 on a team that made the finals. Its a bit redic to say that he doesn't come to play in big games.
Asik definitely made teams think twice about Hack-A-Asik going down the 4th quarter after Scotty brooks pathetically tried it in the 3rd quarter last year.
That chick Champion is one of the most annoying hosts of all time. I'd prefer she just shut up instead of chiming in with useless phrases agreeing with the two hosts. Like no one cares that you agree with Stephen A.
Well, to be fair, Dwight scored less than 15 points in 7 of the 23 playoffs games during that Finals run, only 11 points in the elimination game. That's kind of bad when you were the best player of your team. Howard has never been a dependable scorer like most other franchise superstars. The knock was that he didn't have a bread and butter go to game. I hope his improved low post game this season so far is not a fluke and he finally can be rely on carrying his team's scoring load alongside with Harden.
I think the Rockets may need both Asik/Howard playing together when (if) they play the Thunder in the playoffs. A lineup of Bev/Lin, Harden, Parsons, Howard, and Asik may match up well with them. Possibly having Lin play more than Bev because of his offense since defense won't be a huge issue with this lineup.
The key here is with Asik Oklahoma does not play to stop him. They let him get the ball, because he is not expected to score with it. This plays right into Houstons hands. Houston picks and rolls Oklahoma to death and when they over play Harden then Asik gets a dunk. If they converge on Harden, 3 point shots are open. A key here is Harden being agressive. This is also true for Parsons if he has any energy from playing defense on Durant. Lin did not have many points, but also played against Oklahoma the right way and will be key in this match up. Howard can also play against Oklahoma, just not in the post. Pick and roll against Oklahoma all game long he may not get a lot of points but Harden and Lin should have really good games and if a Francisco Garcia and or a Jordan Hamilton also show up, Houston will have a shot to win the game.
Bwaaahaha Don't listen to opinions of basketball media. 99.9% of their opinions are crp, especially those of Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless. Only guys opinions worse than them are the Houston csn commentary team, especially bill w and Clyde SMFH.

Having watched every Rockets game last year, I would disagree. 9/10 was a good game for Asik last season.
