i used to get so mad at him when he would drive in the lane and take those floaters...
still loved his passion for the game of basketball and for the rockets. he played with heart. im glad he went to a good team. seems like he's doing well already. gl to you skip.

    Great thread!

Rafer held down this position and did a good job at it!

The tried to replace him so many times.

    We signed Francis, drafted AB,

    Skip did a great job!

I wish all of the success to Rafer in Orlando.

I think Orlando should do really good with Rafer.

I wouldn't be surprised if the get to the Easter Conference finals.

    WAR RAFER

I WILL FOREVER BE A RAFER ALSTON FAN!

i WISH HIM THE BEST IN ORLANDO, WHERE HE WILL MOST LIKELY SUCCEED THIS YEAR WITH DWIGH, HEDO, RASHARD, AND THE OTHERS. WHEN JAMEER COMES BACK NEXT YEAR, HOPEFULLY THEY DON'T JUST BURY RAFER ON THE BENCH.

I WANT HIM TO GO TO A SUCCESSFUL FRANCHISE AND BE A WINNER FOR ONCE.

IF NOT THAT, THAN I HOPE HE GETS RELEASED AND COMES BACK TO HOUSTON, WHERE HE BELONGS!!!

    LOVE YOU RAFER.

TRUE STORY, I WAS AT THE LAKER GAME IN JANUARY AND RAFER WAS AT THE FREE THROW LINE WITH 4 SECONDS LEFT IN THE GAME AND WE WERE DOWN BY 2 POINTS. I WAS SITTING IN MY SECTION AS THE ONLY ROCKET FAN WITH A RAFER ALSTON JERSEY AND I WHISPERED TO MY PARTNER (HE'S GONNA MISS) AND SURE ENOUGH, HE MISSED THEM BOTH. THE WHOLE SECTION HEARD ME AND LOOKED AT ME LIKE I JINXED HIM OR SOMETHING, BUT BEING THE FAN THAT I AM, I HAD SEEN TOO MANY ROCKETS' GAMES TO KNOW THAT RAFER WAS GOING TO BRICK AT LEAST ONE OF THOSE FREE THROWS. I LOVE RAFER TO DEATH AND I WISH HIM ALL THE BEST IN ORLANDO AND I WILL BE WEARING THAT JERSEY WHEN ORLANDO COMES TO HOUSTON IN MARCH!!!!!

    BYE RAFER, HELLO AARON BROOKS!

The second I heard about the trade I knew there would be people saying "All Hail Rafer!" I mean, the dude was not bad, and he ran the offense very well and he wasn't a liability defensively, but come on guys. I wish the guy the best of luck and he was a nice guy and a team player, but don't give up Brooks and Lowry already. Brooks has started a total of 2 games, and Lowry has had like 2 practices with the team. This is what alot of people wanted anyways, start brooks. Just give the young guys a chance. This is best for both Rafer and the Rockets, we were not going to the the finals anyways, so it dosen't really matter whether we have a veteran PG or not. We now have an awesome core of young guys thanx to morey.

In the video section of nba.yahoo.com, Kenny Smith gives his opinions on the recent trades. He's really high on the Alston trade for Orlando.

He thinks Alston's a great fit with the Magic, even better than Jameer Nelson, because Rafer will set the table for the other players.

He even says the trade puts the Magic ahead of the Cavaliers in the East.
