Thanks Rafer. You played hard and you played well. You will be dearly missed. It will be hard to cheer against you from now on.
Skip, and least you played with heart and was a team-first guy. You were a horribly inconsistent shooter, but you made me a fan over the years regardless. Good luck in the future.
I really really hate the trade, that drop a good passer to Yaoming for 5 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very sad!!!!!!!!!! But rockets will say:skip to my Lost............. God damn it, do you believe that Morey can get Deron,Chris, Chaucer or even Hirich next time? or any motivation in international market to source some one like Spannoulis??? What is the hell trade? The lineups is not stable at all, and trade a key point position player ... Skip to my lost............
I'm happy Skip found a good home. Atleast we didn't trade him to the Wizards or something. But I'm also glad we finally moved on.
Rafer Alston, Had some fun and not so fun times. Good guy, great baller (minus the shooting of course). Hope you enjoy Florida again.
I feel sorry for Rafer, after all he's done for this team he's getting traded for a young rookie ? On top of that, Leslie praised him the night before just to trade him the next day. Good to hear Rafer read through that !! I'm also glad Rafer is professional about it in the media because I would feel betrayed after having Mike James and SF3 coming in, beating them and then after giving this team his all the following year they play it like this ? Wow this is crazy, I'm listening to the radio right now and guess what song comes on: The O'Jays - Backstabbers Morey really tops it off with saying he believes the team just got better, what a TERRIBLE LIAR !!! Anyways, thanks for everything Rafer !! Thanks for being a fierce competitor, thanks for all the streetball moves, thanks for the leadership, thanks for calling people out (seriously), thanks for staying professional through all the bull you had to deal with by Tracy playing PG, thanks for running the fastbreak, thanks for breaking Deron's ankles, thanks for going at Vujacic, thanks for 8 threes in the decisive 22nd game last year, thanks for all the fancy passes, thanks for arguing with the refs and thanks for being a great guy. Can't wait until April 7th when the Magic play here and hopefully the fans that will attend will applaud you. You deserve it and good luck with the Magic, hope you get deep into the playoffs. Maybe we will meet you in the Finals, a 95 rematch, anything is possible
GOOD luck to rafer ,i love him ,at least he doesnt take himself too seriously ,i love his style, morey id s moroon ,good luck ,rafer, hope you will live happily.
Thanks Rafer, if everyone had your heart this team would have won a championship. Thanks for shoein your fans how to handle an arrogant cop during a bogus DUI stop.
Poor Refer. just when he gets chance to prove something special, he gets trade. I like the way he controls game tempo, a tough guy.
I liked his style. He was a street baller. He had the moves. He had the tear drop. He could run the offense probably better than anyone since Kenny Smith. We are taking a gamble hoping these other guards work out but, if they fail, then we will be yet again looking for someone like Rafer except who can shoot better. My only real problem with Rafer is he was inconsistent. If he could shoot with any consistency, then he would be really good. As it stands with his inconsistent shot, he was only pretty good with stretches of poor play and stretches of great play. God, I hope this works out because IMO there is no worse position to be in for a team than a team that lacks a point guard that can manage the floor well. We have been there prior to Rafer...and it was fugly. I worry about team chemistry. Team chemistry just doesn't come together over night. Seriously, it hasn't been that great all year with all these dang line-ups due to Tmac's injury and other injuries. Now, we're bringing in new players. For this reason, I don't think we get out of the first round again this season. I highly doubt there is enough time left in this season to put it all together. I don't think you trade away your point guard and recover in time for the playoffs. I have doubts about Brooks. He can play and score but his size and defense...ouch. And, of course, we really do need a healthy Tmac and Yao to make a true run at the crown. It will be interesting to see how it all works out, though.
