I don't think it is a good trade for Rockets, but for Sixers, why not. They have a good, young center (I don't remember his name) and they have already shown they can win.

They are young but just have so meany weapons. It would be a good place for Tracy, I belive.

One thing the rox have shown in yao's absence is if they can get rebounding and blocks out of the pivot, they can win games big time. I'm really not that afraid of the dalembart being a rocket because he has 2 yrs left and he is what he is. He can hit the open face up jumper and runs the court and finshes well. He's a better defender than offensive player to me. I wouldnt want to take dalembert withoutsomeone else though. Maybe this is where brand comes comes in. When he's healthy, he's on of the best 4's in the league and he just turned or is about to turn 30. If the rox dont want to rebuild and just want to retool, they can do some thing with philly.

Hmmm let me think about this? Where is Andre Iguodala? Oh he's not in the deal, you're not trading him?

    *Hang up*

There is no way we get Iguodala....If the Sixers include Thad Young or Marreese Speights in the deal, I would take it....

QFT. thaddeus is more untouchable than iguodala. his potential is ridiculous. even barkley is obsessed with the guy.

Yeah, teams like the Sixers and Knicks need to realize. We're just not going to trade Tmac for a average or crappy Center like Dalembert or Curry.

We want a GOOD player back, one that has a SHOT at making a all-star game or two. We don't want crap back, otherwise we can just hang onto his contract.

It seems to me other teams think the Rockets are desperate after the Yao thing.

Definitely a bad trade from the Rockets perspective. Even adding Lou Williams doesn't improve this deal that much, if at all.

Add Thaddeus Young to Dalembert and we can talk.

Can Yao and Brand play next to each other, though? I know it's early but I assume the general consensus on Yao is that he'll be back at some point next season (much like McGrady). So if we pull off some wild McGrady-for-Brand/Dalembert type deal, do you think Brand and Yao can play next to each other?

The only reason I bring this up is because pre-injury Brand always looked like more of a center to me. After seeing him last year, he looked pretty old and slow to me. Is it feasible to use a 4/5 duo that may have trouble closing out on those perimeter-oriented 4/5's that always give us trouble? Aside from Brand's ugly contract, that's my main concern with the idea.

Thankfully the Rockets have an intelligent GM and will not approve this trade. Who the hell is this player? Thats like saying Kobe Bryant for McGrady. Gimme a break!

Brand next to Yao makes more sense than probably any option. He and Yao would play very well together because brand can shoot and hit contested mid range jumpers off the dribble, he's a great rebounder and is a very good defender and shotblocker. He battles back from the achilles tear only to ove compensate for his back. He has a higher bpg avg than yao and he's 6'8 but he has long arms. Mcgrady and barry for Brand and Samuel works money wise. Then the rockets could use scola's good production for the price contract and get another player. If Yao comes back, which I'm not sure about, dalembert is his backup , but more importantly , he would be a expiring contract and still under 30 yrs old. Like I said, you have to decide if you want to rebuild or compete. Brooks, artest, Battier, Brand, and Dalembert is a really good starting 5. Or depending on what u get for scola, u can get something pretty good for him as a wing player. U can make it a very good trade and a very good team if they do it right.

Sure dude, cause with that Knicks confirmed offer of Cuttino and Curry, as well as the Dalembert idea, it's becoming real clear that Tracy's value is high enough to score Bosh or Amare

Geez is it me or is Tracy Mcgrady becoming Steve Francis all over again, he was an all star and then all of a sudden we can get a grilled cheese sandwich for him but no team will throw in a bag of chips. lol

Agreed that everything depends and Yao's condition for next year and which direction this team wants to move in. Given my previous post, i'm obviously not as wild about Brand playing next to Yao as you are. My concerns about neither Yao nor Brand being able to close out adequately on the perimeter 4/5's definitely concerns me but a healthy Brand not only keeps us alive, it potentially makes us lethal if/when Yao returns.

Brand is a very, very good defender even at 6'8. He closes out well because he is quick. I charge last yr off because the injury. Plus he's a great weakside defennder/shotblocker.

honestly i believe that other teams are purposefully leaking these ridiculous type of trades for mcgrady to drive his value down.

no one knows how he is going to be when he comes back what if he comes back to being a 18/5/5 type guy then its a steal when you factor in the huge cap relief you get with that.

i think a lot of teams really want that cap relief and are doing what they can to give up either a)terrible players or b) terrible contracts and drive that price down

The shotblocking goes without saying. I've never considered him a quick player (especially post-surgeries) so i'm a bit surprised to hear you say that. I could be wrong, just saying he seems like he's gradually losing his mobility as I see it which concerns me when thinking about him paired up next to Yao. Oh well, we're a LONG way from that point anyway.
