pretty sure his salary would still be on the books, limiting our ability to clear space for the eventual howard signing

I'd like to think Royce would learn from this and realize that the Rockets actually treated him well and tried to accommodate him.

    But he won't.

The Rockets clearly treated this guy better and made more of an effort than most of the teams in the league.

I thought the Rox are still paying his salary, no? The deal was that 76ers would take him in buy we pay his remaining salary. We were only dumping his roster spot.

You can't really pay a player on another team, technically speaking. What the Rockets did is send cash -- probably the full amount Royce is owed for this year -- to the Sixers, along with the rights to Furkan Aldemir and well... Royce.

Royce's full salary will count against the Sixers cap and they will have to still pay him his full salary -- it's just that the Rockets already send them the money they owe to Royce.

Truly great role model for all those afflicted by anxiety issues . . . NOT.
And we never heard from Royce again . . .

Good job Royce. Instead of working hard and keeping straight like everyone else, you chose to be a lazy diva bum. Made a bold statement that people with mental disorders aren't cut out for professional sports.
