Could they convince the Kings to give up De'Aaron Fox?

Giannis would of definitely thrown down a free dunk at the basket and made his stupid face expressions. Simmons was thinking about Gallo behind him and shooting free throws.

Kings would laugh in their face. Although Kings might offer Buddy and Bagley

Ben Simmons is not welcomed back in Philadelphia. He is public enemy #1 in that city right now. Doc Rivers wouldn't even defend him in the post-game interview last night, and Joel Embiid actually went after him for the dunk that he opted not to take. Simmons just turtled up in the biggest game of the year -- he's gone. Morey is going to be forced to trade him for pennies on the dollar, given his huge contract. I don't think there's any chance that they'd get back someone of value like CJ McCollum or Pascal Siakam. No way -- unless Philadelphia throws in Maxey, picks, etc.

Add our 2021 pick from the Bucks and you've probably got yourself a deal in all honesty.

As far as that no dunk in game 7, "Even John Stockton and his research says, Simmons should take the shot" [IMG]

No rebuilding team would want Ben Simmons. If you are looking for a franchise player, would you want to have Simmons and his 5-year 40M per contract? The only teams I expect would be interested are teams that already have an alpha guy and have lost faith in the current second option to take them to the next level. Portland could be one of those teams. Maybe Miami? Utah (Gobert for Simmons?)

Simmons stock has really dropped... Philly and their fans would've hung up immediately a few months ago... now it might be a viable option that could help both teams.

Simmons - Covington - Jones Jr - Ross - Dame would be a much more versatile and better defensive unit. Simmons and Cov at the 4 and 5 might lack a bit of heft, but they are both very good to great interior defenders and can switch onto guards (cov is avg at it). They could resign nurkic or another center for cheap to roll out versus the very few jokic, embid, towns of the NBA. On offense, SImmons will be the main screen and roll partner for Dame. When Dame is trapped, Simmons can do what he does best, attack the paint and play make in semi transition (a 4v3). When not screening and rolling, simmons will have the ball at the top of the circle for dribble hand offs, passing to cutters or Dame come off the pin-downs. This (draymond) role largely negates his shooting weaknesses. His free throw however has to be worked.

For Philly, adding CJ gives Embid and the offense a ton more space. Presently the only perimeter threat was Curry. Green, Korkmaz and Harris were adequate threats but CJ gives them another lock down shooter and more importantly ball handler/playmaker on the perimeter. Removing Simmons, gives the entire paint back to Embid and Harris, who no longer needs to at times lounge at the 3 point line to fit Simmons in the post or dunker spot. The only problem with CJ would be having two average or below average defenders in the backcourt.

    Why would Philly want Gobert?

I didn't think Philly would want Gobert. But Utah would be interested in trading Gobert for Simmons.

You could trade Gobert to another team. Make it a three way.

Either way, Simmons is an incredibly limited player that has plummeted his value. Sadly for the Sixers, they might as well try to make the best out of the situation and work to make him a better shooter. There is not a player out there that you can trade for what they believe Simmons is worth.

Don't think Simmons + Butler works. According to the articles about Butler's time there, it was their dynamic on court that made Butler not resign and Philly not to prioritize the resigning. Butler had and still has a great relationship with Embid... not so much with Simmons.

Sure, why not. But let’s try to give them John Wall for Fox instead. Seems plausible.
