3 or 2 more years depending on the lockout.

    Sixers w/o Iggy:
    Holiday, Williams
    Meeks, Turner
    Young, Nocioni
    Brand, Speights
    Hawes (free agent), (Brand)

They need a starting SG and a backup C.

The salaries matchup for a package of Miller + T-Will + Thabeet.

If I was Memphis I'd flip Rudy who doesnt play D and has 80 mil left and who when he got hurt the grizz went from looking like an 8 seed to champs for AI..one of the best defenders around in a heartbeat.

A healthy Bogut alone should get us to to and out of the first round. From there anything can happen.

Iggy would be a good fit on the Lakers too...I don't see how they get him though.

Iggy was a huge factor for Phillys unexpected season. He was their leader, playmaker, glueguy and a whole lot more. They shouldnt break up a roster thats working for them. Besides, Evan Turner isnt ready to start yet and still needs another season or two. They should keep Iggy in that time and try land Dalembert, thats exactly what they need - a legit starting center. Then trade Nocioni.

A full healthy Philly squad plus Dalembert and better chemistry can compete with the likes of NY, Hawks and Magic for 4th spot in the east.

I hate to flame people, but this statement is absolutely ridiculous.

So, they have "more structure" with no Rudy Gay on the squad?

    Blasphemy.

What's with some people coming up with ridiculous ideas such as, "you can't have two similar all-stars together because they can't figure out who is number one?", or this one:"its much better to have a fringe defender than it is to have an allstar because then you can identify roles.","two great scorers will not fit because they both score".

So what, you can't identify roles when you have two all-stars instead of one all-star and one scrub?

So are you saying you only can have one legit scorer on your team?

    R.I.D.I.C.U.L.O.U.S.

EVERYONE, PLEASE LISTEN TO THE QUOTED ARGUMENT, AND THEN PROCEED TO BREAK UP THE MIAMI HEAT TEAM AND EVERY OTHER TEAM WITH MORE TALENT THAN THE HOUSTON ROCKETS BECAUSE "THEY DON'T FIT AND DON'T HAVE ROLES".

    Why would Memphis do that?

Iguodala is a 15ppg scorer. In other words, he is barely a starting calibre NBA scorer.

Shane Battier averaged 10 ppg here in Houston.

Rudy Gay, on the other hand, is one of the elite scorers in the league.

He can go for 22ppg on any team.

Iguodala has no shot, while Rudy Gay can rise up for any shot anytime anywhere due to his incredible lift, length and range.

Memphis would be idiots to trade Rudy Gay for Iguodala.

Btw, we won't be getting Iggy. Morey is waiting for CP3/Dwight.

I would love to get Iguodala.

He's the perfect compliment to Kevin Martin, could make our team much better than it is. He'd take the tougher defensive assignment every night, hustle hard, and contribute with points, rebounds, assists and steals.

The guy is overpaid, but I think it's worth it. I think Martin + Iguodala on the same team is worth $25-30m per season combined. They fit very well together and would make each other better.

I don't think they would mind taking on T-Will. They may be interested in Jordan Hill too. I'm not sure how we'd make the salaries work though.

Rudy gay averaged only 19.8 ppg, and he wasn't very efficient either. Just because he can make some fancy fadeaways doesn't mean he's elite. He is barely more efficient than Iguoadala.

Iguodala is a much better defender and passer. Iggy is the better overall player while getting paid less, so I'd take Iggy over Gay in a heartbeat.

Barring injury issues, Iggy for Gay would be a great deal for Memphis - clear payroll space to sign Gasol, improve defense, and keep what they have going right now.

Their run this year reminds me of when T-Mac went down and we made it to the second round of the playoffs. There's a really good chance that Memphis wouldn't be in the playoffs if Gay hadn't had that season ending injury.

As a fellow WCF team let me say getting Iggy for Rudy Gay would definitely be a dream come true for you guys. For one thing You'd have 3 above-average to borderline elite wing defenders on the squad. Secondly Iggy can make plays for everyone else and act like an elite glue-guy, something that's much better with Z-bo/Gasol frontcourt than Rudy Gay doing fancy fadeaways and avoiding contact. Finally Iggy is also cheaper, easier to keep Gasol and Mayo in the team.

I don't know why Philly would do this deal though. Only an idiot would trade for Gay's max contract at this point, he's like the sf version of Rashard Lewis.

    LOL

Rudy Gay has NEVER averaged 22 ppg. Hell, he's never even averaged 20+ ppg.

In fact, prior to this season, Iggy and Gay have averaged practically the same exact amount of ppg every season.

Gay is obviously the better shooter... but Iggy is easily the better defender, and is a triple-double threat every single time he steps on the court.

Should Memphis instantly trade Gay for Iggy? I'm not sure... but they would be completely out of their minds to not even consider it.

Iggy is no where near as valuable a player as Rudy Gay. I would not trade Rudy Gay for him under any circumstances.

Also the Grizz did not get better after Rudy Gay's injury, they were 14-3 in his last 17 games.

He is a really overrated player. As soon as his athletic ability slips a big he is the current version of Richard Jefferson part 2, except Jefferson is a much better shooter, and even then he can't hardly shoot.

No way is Iguodala worth his contract.

Yes, I don't know why everyone is avoiding that part of the story. It would be the main reason the Sixers try to move him, I think. The announcers were even talking about "what a shame" his chronic condition is. It has some long name that I can't remember, but I think it's an accepted diagnosis.

What makes sense to me is Phoenix, where the amazing medical staff can get 3-4 great years of 28 minutes per game out of him. (like Grant Hill but even better.)

I love him as a player and think his skill set is underrated by people because he's not a volume scorer.

    Iggy/Fish
    Kobe/Brown
    Artest/Matt
    Bynum/Brand
    Odom/Smith

The Lakers could re-tool right here with one smart trade, moving Gasol, Walton, and a couple picks to Philly for Iggy/Brand. Philly saves a ton of money, gets a couple picks out of Iggy, plus Gasol. Lakers....ugh! They get the ideal point guard/forward to play alongside Kobe. Iggy is a facilitator, he'll take a ton of pressure off Kobe on both ends of the floor with his handle, his passing, and his D. That team would undoubtedly be the best defensive team in the league with plenty of offense in the blocks with Bynum/Brand and on the perimeter Kobe/Lamar/Iggy/Shannon/Artest and a couple three guys that can play in the box or face up at the 3-point line (Kobe, Artest, Lamar, Iggy).

Iggy could play the point for the Lakers. And what better defender out there would there be for Westbrook, Paul, and all the rest of the point guards.

If I had Rudy Gay on my team I would trade him for Iggy. Iggy would improve Memphis IMO.

Wouldn't OJ Mayo be the more likely candidate for Memphis to trade though? They were trying to trade him at the deadline plus Gay / Iggy / Conley would be pretty damn lethal IMO. I have no idea of what it would take to make the trade work but If it's possible I would think that would be more likely.

If I were Memphis I wouldn't want Iggy on the floor along Tony Allen, Battier or Young; Rudy Gay is a better complement to those. I also don't see the point of bringing Iggy here, I would only bring him in if he were to be the final piece of the puzzle and you wouldn't give a blip about your cap situation. I also don't see him taking the Lakers back on top, I'm not sure Kobe allows room for a Pippen.
