As for the pic on top, i think the guy on the left is still a grasshopper. he's not quite orange yet and he's actually smiling [maybe even laughing]. you don't laugh!!! you tilt your head and look angry at the camera. maybe even pout a little or subtly kiss at the camera.

That' a reflection from the background like. You'll see the same color on his shoulder and on her hair.
