Welp, this came out of the blue on a sunday morning. Foster out for season. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Texans RB Arian Foster is out for the season, per sources. Multiple opinions revealed he needs back surgery.</p>— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/statuses/399513624479150080">November 10, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Not too surprising, I think this is the right move to make. No reason to play him now with the season basically over.
Even less reason to play Tate, since the season is over, and he's not going to be on it next year. DJ will be the starter within 3 weeks, as I said at the beginning of the thread.
Back surgery!? Obviously this was hinted at; that this was a possibility but back surgery?! That's never good. Yeah, I still strongly consider cutting him in the offseason. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Once Arian Foster is placed on IR, Texans will have NFL-high $26.3M in cap dollars on IR, overtaking the Patriots. 21% of their cap number</p>— Brian McIntyre (@brian_mcintyre) <a href="https://twitter.com/brian_mcintyre/statuses/399543645788848128">November 10, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I feel bad for Case if that's the situation. I believe the Texans liked DJ as a runner but he was terrible at blocking the blitz.
Don't feel bad for Case...he has 5 or 6 more seasons as the starter to prove himself whether he's good or not!
