I just installed a new faucet on my kitchen sink. I could not stand my builder grade one. It shot water out the side, hated it, replaced it. My question is, I have a overflow as my 4th hole on my kitchen sink for both the disposal and the dishwasher. My question is, can I replace this with a soap dispenser? The guy (a man with questionable intellegence) at Lowes told me I could. Anyone have experience on this? Would capping off the overflows lead to some issues? The faucet I bought ($240...dang) came with the matching soap dispenser for the 4th sink hole. Help me please. Thanks in advance!!!!
i never understood the novelty of soap dispensers in a public restroom maybe, but in your own house aint nobody gonna run off w/ your pump bottle full of liquid soap
Well I paid a good amount for the faucet, and it came with a matching stainless steel dispenser that matched. Its mostly cosmetic, and my fiance really wants it on. Guess that sums it up.
Maybe I'm just not paying attention right and that's why I'm lost: is this dispenser for hand soap or for the dishwashing liquid? if for the latter, then that would be convenient i guess
Its for hand soap, but in all honesty, you could fill it up with mountain dew, coffee creamer, or salad dressing I guess. Its more of the ladies taste than mine, but really, after looking at that ugly overflow, it would look nicer.
I think what you are calling an overflow is actually an air gap. It's purpose is to keep drain water from your sink from going back into your dishwaser and garbage disposal. It is required by code in some places. I would not remove it.
