Oh no, I didnt forget. Its almost the same situation except......... 1.......diferent time and period 2......The Rockets didnt have a Kobe-type player to help take the burden off.......atleast until Drexler arrived. 3.......But the Rockets had a helluva supporting cast to help take the burden off of Dream a little, something I'm sure Shaq wished he had last season. I think the prblem is perhaps the way I worded stuff. Yeah sure, I hate Shaq and the Lakers with a passion. But you have to give the man some credit. He is in fact, one of the most dominating players in the game today. Now I still dont really agree with this. Not even McGrady himself agrees with you on this judging from his comments in the article I posted below. Yes it is from the assclowns at ESPN. And to make things even worse, its from Page 2. But you cant deny the authenticity of this. It provides direct quotes from teamamtes and the man HIMSELF during THIS past season to help illustrate my point of view on this subject. His desire and intensity has always been questionable. Sometimes it really shows, and sometimes its masked by his absolute tremendous offensive skills. My point is this, for him to be a Top 2 guy like suggested by another poster, he needs to improve on defense. And this is perhaps why so many people on there Top 10 lists have him rated in the #5-7 region or worse, which is where I have him too listed #7.

Wake up man. Why the hell can't the league's '2nd best player' get his team out of the first round of the playoffs? Who cares how many ppg he scored? If he's a loser, who cares? Hell, thats the reason Francis doesn't get the props other players do, because he doesn't take his team anywhere. You know what tigereye? I was wrong. Unlike some I can admit it. I think he's a decent defender, but one of the better wind defenders? No, hes not. He has the tools to be one of the better wing defenders, and I think he used to be a better defender than he is currently, but yes, his d could use improvement. But I do think his d is overly criticized, as is Dirk's. Regardless, I still think he's at least top 8 player. Higher if you're talking about fantasy bball.
Thanks Crisco, atleast your man enough to be honest about it...... I agree with what you say too. He is a fantastic player, its just that he needs a little improvement on defense. Part of it I think is because of the whole "intensity" issue. If he has no desire and intensity to win, why would he use (or in this case, waste) his energy on defense. Hopefully he can get this corrected soon cause as Horace Grant put it, "Nothing gets unfixable as quickly as Bad Habits." And your right about the fantasy B-BALL bit. That 32 ppg could really come in handy then.
I don't think anyone can take the top spot when Shaq is still playing. Not Duncan. Not KG. Last season was the lone exception, where Shaq get fat and bored, Horry missed his clutch shots, and Lakers lousy roleplayers/bench. This season, Shaq is going to mow down everybody in the paint again, like he always did in the last couple of years. TD and KG included.
One thing I would say about T-Mac is this: At least he is aware of his short-comings. When has Francis mentioned his D? Don't forget how much of a load McGrady has to bear on the offensive end too. If some of team-mates contributed more on that end, maybe he wouldn't be cheating on rotations to conserve energy.
ducan is the best player in the league period...he don't need another superstar to win just good role players, and here's a thought can kobe carry a team?
