Dude there top 3 guys have missed huge chunks of time. What is this supposed to mean? Is half the West gonna be out with injuries next year?
So if the Rockets have injuries it shouldn't matter but if the Lakers have injuries it should?? I'm trying to understand this logic.
I'm trying to understand where you are going with this period. What does injuries have to with us being ahead of the curve? What do injuries have to do with next year? If we did not have injuries this year we would just have a more crappy draft pick and how does that put us ahead of the curve?
On the contrary, I think if we could've been healthy, we could've been in the 7 -10 Seed range. Remember the Rockets were doing good until Wood went down, then Wall, then Oladipo, then Gordon, then Nwaba, then Brown and House has missed practically all yr.....the same way injuries effect the Lakers, it effect the Rockets
How is Tate better than identifying Beverly? Or identifying Lowry and Dragic as undervalued assets. How is KMJ better than Chuck Hayes? Neither of the guys you mentioned are guaranteed to have long careers in NBA, I like the players but we don't know if they fit long term. And how do you know Morey had nothing to do with identifying these players?
Ok. Because you believe it I guess it's true and how does that put us ahead of the curve? What is your curve?
When I say ahead of the curve, I mean ahead of teams that have been CELLER DWELLERS for yrs.; Wash, Sac, Cleve, Minn, etc. They have players but they don't have a nucleus. We have a nucleus (Wood, Tate, Wilson, KMJ and KPJ), we have draft picks and we have veterans that are coming back next yr. Where as those teams are doing the same things year in and year out and not really making traction
Wasn't your question, what has Stone done regarding talent evaluation? I pinpointed he bought in Tate, KMJ and I forgot to mention KPJ too. I didn't know you were comparing him against Morey. In my opinion, Morey was good at maneuvering but he did not know how to assemble a Championship Team but that's for a different day and conversation.
I don't know how you figure that. You want to compare those nucleus to those other teams? They all have comparable players and they have not been in the 7 to 8 seed. Did you really include Wilson as a piece of a nucleus? If these guys are so good why do we keep losing?
Compare them! Please do and yes I included Wilson. I see him as a 8, 9 or 10 man off the bench. He rebounds, spread the court and he can play adequate defense at the moment. I think like most of the Rockets young players, they need an off- season to gain weight, strength and work on their shot. Alot occurred last yr; Harden coming to camp with a bad attitude, the trade, injuries, etc. I'm curious to see what next yr brings
You have a team with the worst record in the NBA but you are projecting a guy as the 8th 9th or 10th guy of the bench for a possibly 7th or 8th seed? What the hell does Harden have to do with us continuing to still lose with all of this great young nucleus? Really my dude?
ATL and Phoenix are proving my point!! Both teams are in the Conf Finals. Less than 2yrs ago both teams were where the Rockets are now, in the Lottery and with the Rockets getting the #2 pick, they are not that much better than the Rockets are now!
