Oh, yeah. I'm sure Morey said that. And I'll put equal faith in the rest of the article.

yeah i am very skeptical with this article and i dont think everything was necessarily lost in translation. morey has never thrown anyone under the bus and it seems odd that he would open up to the chinese media and not the us media.

either way thanks for translating the article but i feel the majority is bs. not your (original poster) fault

There is no way Morey would make those comments. He has no reason to bash JVG publicly (why would he bother) and he wouldn't discuss specifics in trades about Rafer. You will hear that in Houston before you hear it in the Chinese media.

As pointed out by a few others (including pryuen), that is not Morey's quote. The OP didn't claim direct translation of the article, but he erred (or misled, if you will) in putting words into Morey's mouth. The words you questioned were spoken by a Rockets media spokeswoman, as shown in the original article.

Personally I don't believe that the SINA article can be taken at face value. I'm not saying they made it up, but the way the article reads sounds much as if the reporter injected a fair amount of personal speculation into what Morey's actual words were.

I've just read the referring article on Sina.com.Comparing the article in Chinese with this thread,I found the translation is almost right. But my English is not very good.
Morey is a smart guy,i dont think he said like that.

I get the feeling this is completely made up. Morey would never say that about JVG...first because that is purely a fan perspective, no one in the organization has ever said anything like that. Two, its just not PC...

it doesn't take a free press to figure out that alston will be gone. just hope the pi situation doesnt get overblown by espn/media outlets, thus potentially decreasing his trade value.

call me a dreamer, but im still hoping for haslem! ha, tis a pipedream admittedly but would be perfect!

Isn't it funny people keep complaining about Morey never said anything about JVG even after many people have pointed out that statement was made by a PR official.

I love how people make comments without reading more deep into the thread. From wnes: (not to mention several posters points out already the comment about JVG was from a Rox spokeswoman).

I know sina is not a trustable source 100%, however, to b@tch about it based on the JVG comment is not correct because that was a mistake from the OP. Whether there are more info misinterpreted in the translation, who knows...

Look, I know Morey is new and all, but there is no chance in HELL he says this to the media. When Clutch and I were at the Scola press conference, we were talking to him and just joking about how the fans at first didn't get his moves, but now they are starting to love him. He started to make a joke about how quickly that can change when he noticed Fran Blinebury taking notes. Literally, in mid-sentence, he switched to some politically correct answer.

    The guy is no dummy.

I don't doubt that Rafer will be traded. It just seems obvious. But, Morey isn't going to say he is definitely being traded when a microphone or recorder is in his face.

I just want to point out that as useless as this thread has been (not even much entertainment value), the one gem that I will take away is Morey being translated as Thunder-Face. I think that's the way I will forever refer to him from now on. That's awesome.

    THUNDER FACE!!!! :D

I don't think even a PR official would speak like that. It's just not professional. I don't believe any officials from the organization would say things like that.

maybe Thunder Face previously worked for Sony's PS3 ad campaign.

Does Morey even have to say that JVG was stubborn?

Some things are obvious to everyone !

This is MADE UP CRAP. We need to stop posting every Chinese article here. They make up half their interviews.

No, that doesn't conclude anything. It's very possible that Morey said something sounds politically correct, but the "reporter" read the words between lines. Or the reporter recorded it as-it-is in English, then the translater(s) got the "real meaning" and put it in another language. etc.

Remember when Mr.Greenspan talked (very politically correct), how the market/Wall Street reacted? (even no translation envolved) "Did he SAY THAT?" or NOT?
