You know what is wrong with this statement? It was reported by JVG, that Morey wanted to keep him, but I can't recall it being said by Morey himself.

And, if Morey knew that there was NO way that Les was bringing JVG back, it would be prudent of Morey to feign interest in keeping JVG in order to not make an enemy out of someone connected to the NBA whom he might cross paths with again.

I think (only my opinion) that Morey is smart at playing both sides of the frence, and I believe that he wanted to bring in his own style of roster, and coach. Most GM's want to build their own staff's, so I figure that Morey was just being nice, but truthfully wanted JVG gone.

Morey is a smart guy, he could see JVG's faults...and how they get magnified in the playoffs.

I agree. Also sometimes under that scenario ("was translated to a foreign language and then translated back to English by unprofessional translators") the REAL meanings revealed, because all diplomatic sugar coat got "lost in translation."

this interview is total BS...anybody that believes morey said any of that is pretty stupid...a GM never calls out coaches and players like that nor discusses a player that hasn't been traded yet ....please lock this thread..its ridiculous

Even though I can see the New Coach as a good change I really think we are still going to miss JVG D and Preparation for the games. They should have kept him in the organization.

 

This interview is one of the best...anybody that doesn't believe Morey said is wishful thinking. So you want Clutch to lock a thread just because you don't like it, and/or refuse to believe it? That sounds like USA democracy.

 

This article sounds like the opinions of disgruntled Van Gundy and Alston haters, of which Morey is neither. People who thought Van Gundy ruined the career of Spanoulis and played people they thought shouldn't have played. This article is full of opinion and not fact. A waste of time.

 

I think its great how you make these unfounded assumptions (Morey feigned interest in keeping JVG but secretly wanted to get rid of him) when they agree with your point of view. If Morey didnt want JVG back he would have just cut ties, and not allowed that messy coaching change that reflected so poorly on the organization.

Something tells me you wont jump to the assumption that Morey feigned interest in wanting Vspan back, when in actually he knew Vspan did not have the talent or heart to be a NBA point guard. Of course not, cuz Im sure you still feel Vspan is a great NBA player that was held back by JVG, instead of a mediocre player who quit on his team.

 

I guess its kind of like you are jumping to conclusions your self with out really knowing all of the facts.

Obviously, a little bit has been lost from the communication between the reporter and Morey, to the translation to Chinese, to the translation back to English, to the jackass poster who inserted morbid jokes about Chuck Hayes, and who attributed quotes to the wrong people. To present what came out of this sausage factory as accurate reporting is extremely unfair to Daryl Morey, and confusing to us ClutchFans.

Good point. I'm sick of the so-called democracy here in the USA that is just a euphemism for censorship and oppression.
