Still funny. Did anybody notice who was in the group of clones? Peter from the family guy and some of Homer's cousins.
Yeah, my dad and I couldn't miss this episode. I think I liked the cloned one the best, but the other 2 were pretty funny as well. I'm just happy to watch a new Simpsons.
The Treehouse of Horror has always been the best Simpson episodes, my favorite was the killer Krusty doll sold to Homer by an old storekeeper. "Beware it carries a terrible curse, but it comes with a free frogurt!" "That's good!" "The frogurt is also cursed." "That's bad." "But it comes with your choice of topping!" "That's good!" "The topping contains sodium benzoate." <short pause> "That's bad." "Can I go now?" LMAO, great stuff!
Pretty good episode, although the Homer Clones was one of the best, if not the best skit on the Treehouse of Horror shows! I loved it when one of the clones went to visit Grampa and just nodded his head up and down with his mouth open the whole time!
Hank Hill is freaking uptight. They showed the Astrodome, and called it Reliant stadium. THat's pretty neat.
This Halloween episode was, in the words of the Simpsons kids (upon seeing the "Blocko-Land" commercial), "Meh..." Perhaps it was because I only caught the last 2 segments and missed the clone one. I don't know. I caught an earlier TOH episode a few days ago where Homer goes back to the prehistoric times with his newly-fixed toaster, and I was rolling on the floor with laughter. Watching Homer mercilessly beat up on the dinosaurs reminded me of why I love the Simpsons. This TOH episode, however, just went through the motions. Very flat overall. I pray the new season will restore my faith in the show.
The Clones sketch was outstanding. The other two were stupid, which was somewhat disappointing because the premise for the "Dr. Hibbert's Island" was good.
Actually, the best part of the show may have been in the second one where someone in the crowd held a sign that said, "Fire Gil, not Guns!"
I missed that. I had it on while I was working out and was concentrating on not dropping my massive 40-lb bench press.
The "Clones" skit was the best part of the episode, though it wasn't bad overall. It's just that...well...the time machine bit was done a few years ago in another premiere special, and the "Hibbert's Island" skit wasn't as developed as it could've been. King of the Hill definately is gaining and developing a niche of it's own. Too bad Family Guy isn't still around - it'd make a nice lead in at 7:30et or after Malcom at 9:30et.
Yeah, I miss the Family Guy too and it was cool seeing Peter again. I hear that in the near future, Family guy might end up on comedy central. I don't know when they'd show it though. There was a time when they had a sunday night cartoon block with South Park, The Critic, Duckman, and Bob and Margret, but it is gone now.
Did anybody else notice that the show ended without a resolution? So...Marge is going to be a cat and Bart will be a spider next week?
